Firmware Update Procedure

Unitronics offers an EtherCAT™ Master module for the Unstreak PLC series that needs to be updated on the new UAC-01EC2 EtherCAT™ Master firmware release.

Firmware Update Procedure

1. Download the latest UAC-01EC2 firmware version from the Unitronics website, technical library section: https://www.unitronicsplc.com/support-technical-library/
2. Make sure the system is idle (no movements made; the PLC will switch to STOP mode).
3.  Extract the compressed file and copy the BeagleBone folder to the root folder of your flash drive (make sure that the USB Flash Drive partition does not exceed 16GB), the flash drive must be FAT32 formatted.
4. Plug the USB flash drive into the UAC-01EC2 USB port.
5. Using the PLC UniApps menu, System tab, Upgrade, and access the EtherCAT section.
6. Check the current UAC-01EC2 firmware version using the UniStream UniApps menu.
7.  If the displayed version matches the current downloaded version, don’t perform the upgrade procedure, this might damage the unit.
8. If the presented version is different from the upgrades, ex. 1.0.38900.0.1, press the Upgrade button.
9. In case there is no UniApps presented version, press Force Upgrade.
10. When finished, reboot the system completely and validate the EtherCAT master menu again using the UniApps menu.
