Introduction to MagniBot 2
Congratulations on purchasing your MagniBot 2! This motorized wireless robotic camera is designed to assist those with low vision to see far and near, as well as to hear printed text aloud.
Before using your MagniBot 2, please make sure that it is fully charged. To charge the device, connect the included USB cable to the MagniBot 2 and plug the other end into a power source. Charging time will vary depending on the amount of power remaining in the device, but it typically takes about 8 hours for a full charge.

Using MagniBot 2
TURNING ON/OFF
- To turn on the MagniBot 2, push “l” on the rocker switch. A blue light will appear in the front of the device indicating the unit is turned on.
- To turn off the unit, push the “O” on the rocker switch.

Connecting to MagniBot 2
WIRELESS
- To connect to the camera, disconnect from your existing Wi-Fi network, then choose the Wi-Fi network “MagniBot 2 xxxxx” and connect.
- Check Connect automatically (On Windows)
Ensure “Connect automatically” is unchecked from any other available networks on your machine. Leaving this checked will cause your machine to disconnect from the MagniBot 2 and connect to another network without your knowledge.

- Once, connected, open a web browser and go to URL 192.168.4.1
(Wi-Fi connection)
WIRED
- To connect your MagniBot 2 and the internet, use the provided cable to establish a wired connection. Simply plug one end of the cable into the MagniBot 2 and the other end into your device (Laptop/Mac etc.). This will enable the device to connect while you continue using Wi-Fi on your computer.
- Once connected, open a web browser and go to URL 192.168.5.1
(wired connection)
- For Mac users: Once you connect your MagniBot 2 to your Mac using a wire, go to System Preferences > Network. Follow the steps shown in the image to complete the setup.
Change the service order from A to B. This will allow you to use the internet and the MagniBot 2 simultaneously.
- Video from the camera will appear in the browser with an arrow as shown below
Clicking this arrow displays a Menu Bar with various features on the MagniBot 2.

Moving MagniBot 2
- Arrow keys on your keyboard
- On-Screen Arrow Icons displayed
- Touchscreen Arrow
- Use the arrow keys on keyboard or on-screen arrows or drag with touch/mouse. The further you pull the arrow, the faster it’ll move the camera
- To move the camera, use touch or mouse gestures depending on the device. Click/Touch anywhere near the middle of the screen and drag sideways or up/down to move the camera in the respective direction. Moving in an unclear direction such as at a 45-degree angle will display a red circle indicating MagniBot 2 isn’t sure where to move.
Increasing the drag amount will make MagniBot 2 move faster and vice versa.

Line Return
The “Line Return” feature in the Magnibot 2 enhances your reading experience by allowing you to easily return to the beginning of the next line while reading.
1. Set the Starting Point:
Move the camera to the beginning (leftmost portion) of the line you want to start reading using either the left arrow on your keyboard, touchscreen or the menu bar left arrow icon.
2. Move right to read using the right arrow
3. Return to the starting point of the next line by using one of the following options:
- Perform a Three-Finger Tap on the screen.
- Press the Home button on your device.
- Press the Backspace/Delete key (Backspace on Windows or Delete on Mac).
By using these actions, the camera will instantly return to the position where you last used the left arrow key, allowing for smooth and efficient navigation as you continue reading.
View and Save Captured Image
Capturing and Viewing an Image
- One Click to Capture: Press the
capture button once to bring up a window showcasing the image you just captured, allowing you to quickly view it and easily zoom in and out for more detail. If you’re satisfied with the image, simply click
to download it directly from this window.
Note:
This simple action gives you immediate access to examine your image closely, as shown in the image below.
Near Viewing Camera
Instructions for Switching and Viewing Near & Distance Camera
1. Opening the Near Camera:
– To use the near camera effectively, make sure the built-in OCR camera is positioned at a 90° angle and is parallel to the surface for the best viewing results, as illustrated in the image. Fig. 11.0

When you switch to near Camera,

You will get separate settings in split screen mode as illustrated in Fig. 11.2. To activate, click on the respective camera for setting options.

Switching to wider view
Your device has two reading cameras: a near camera and a wider view near camera as illustrated in the image.
1) Switching to wider view:
- When you zoom out all the way, click
again to switch to the wider view near camera.
- This will give you a wider view and cover more area.
- To return to the main camera, click
once.

Please note that when using the wider view camera, you cannot use the arrow keys for navigation as shown in the Fig. 12.3.
