Trango Agility 9.1 Red Flag Climbing Rope Owner’s Manual
Congratulations on purchasing a Trango Rope. The Trango rope (the “Product” or “rope”) is designed for rock and ice climbing and mountaineering use only. ROCK AND ICE CLIMBING AND MOUNTAINEERING (the “Activities”) ARE INHERENTLY DANGEROUS ACTIVITIES THAT CAN RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
WARNING!! Before using the Product, you must: (1) read, fully understand, and comply with all of the following instructions all times, (2) obtain competent training in the proper use of the Product, (3) understand the limitations and capabilities of the Product, and (4) understand and accept the risks involved in using the Product and engaging in the Activities.
You must obtain competent training and experience to minimize the objective and subjective risks of the Activities and mountain terrain. These instructions are not a substitute for your own knowledge, experience, and good judgment, and these instructions are NOT MEANT TO TEACH YOU HOW TO CLIMB, RAPPEL OR BELAY. Modifying, damaging, or removing any original parts from the Product will make this Product unsafe and void the limited warranty. Please understand that even if you use the Product according to these instructions you are not safe from risks inherent in the Activities, including serious or fatal injury!
YOU ARE PERSONALLY AND SOLELY RESPONSIBLE FOR USING THE PRODUCT CORRECTLY.
FAILURE TO PROPERLY USE THE PRODUCT MAY RESULT IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH. BY PURCHASING AND USING THE PRODUCT, YOU, THE USER, PERSONALLY ASSUME ALL RESPONSIBILITY AND RISK OF SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO YOURSELF AND/OR OTHERS ARISING OUT OF YOUR USE OF THE PRODUCT.
Minors, and any other persons who are not legally able to assume this responsibility and/or assume the risks of using the Product and engage in the Activities must only use the Product under the supervision of a competent and experienced adult. Please check the Trango website frequently for videos, updates and new safety information about this Product.

USING YOUR ROPE



CEASE ALL USE OF AND REPLACE YOUR TRANGO ROPE IMMEDIATELY in the event of a significant fall and/or if the rope is damaged or appears to be damaged in any way, as described in these instructions, including exposure to chemicals, visually compromised, e.g., frayed, abraded, or otherwise.
TRANSPORT
Be careful when packing, transporting, and/or storing your rope. Do not let the rope come in contact with any chemicals.
STORAGE

Always store the Product in a dry and cool environment, protected from UV-radiation, chemicals, heat, cold, and mechanical damage. Minimum storage temperature is -40C/-40F and maximum storage temperature is +60C/+140F. Always make sure that the Product is stored so that it is protected from (1) extreme heat (i.e., above 60C/140F) and/or cold (i.e., below -40C/-40F); (2) exposure to the elements, such as sun, snow, salt water, and rain; and (3) exposure to any chemicals, including, but not limited to: any adhesives, paints, solvents, acids, and other reactive chemicals.

Exposure to any of the foregoing conditions and chemicals can damage the Product and significantly weaken the Product’s energy absorbing and protective properties. In addition, the damage caused by such exposure is often not visible, therefore, replace the Product immediately if exposed to any of the foregoing conditions and chemicals.
CLEANING




If the Product has been exposed to saltwater, rinse completely with warm water as soon as possible.
Do not dry in a dryer, near a radiator, or other heat source.
Do not use any solvents or abrasive cleaning methods.
MODIFICATIONS and REPAIRS:
SERVICE LIFE

The maximum lifespan of a rope from the date of manufacture is ten (10) years. With regular use and appropriate care, the normal lifespan of this product is approximately between two (2) and five (5) years.
If the rope is used frequently, and/or in conditions in which the rope is exposed to grit, mud, sand, or other particulates, the rope’s lifespan may be much shorter.

If the rope is damaged, impacted, or exposed to conditions and/or chemicals as described above in the Storage section, retire the rope immediately.
A single instance of a fall, impact, damage, or exposure could require the rope to be retired after a single use.
Some examples of occurrences that require immediate inspection of the rope are: climber fall; being struck by falling rock, ice or other debris; abrasion; use in or exposure to grit, mud, sand, or other particulates; exposure to rust, corrosion, or saltwater/air; and conditions and/or chemicals as described above in the Storage section. If there is any doubt about the integrity or safety of your rope after inspection, RETIRE IT!

The Trango rope is covered by a three (3) year limited warranty from the original date of purchase for the original owner. This limited warranty only covers defects in materials and manufacturing.
DAMAGE THAT IS DUE TO NORMAL USE AND WEAR; IMPROPER USE, MAINTENANCE, AND/ OR STORAGE; AND/OR ABUSE OR MISUSE, IS EXPLICITLY EXCLUDED FROM THIS LIMITED WARRANTY.
