SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

  • Carefully read the entire instruction manual prior to using the appliance and store it carefully for future reference.
  • Only use this appliance for the purposes described in the instruction manual.
  • Do not use accessories that are not recommended by the manufacturer.
  • TOMADO-TPP1400B-Pancake-Maker-(1) Caution! Avoid contact with the hot surfaces. The grill plates and other surfaces become very hot when using the appliance.
  • Allow the appliance and grill plates to cool down fully before cleaning or storing the appliance.
  • Only connect the appliance to alternate current, to an earthed wall socket, with a mains voltage that corresponds with the information provided on the information plate of the appliance.
  • Never bend the power cord sharply or allow it to run across hot parts.
  • Fully unwind the cord to prevent it from overheating.
  • Never place the appliance near appliances that give off heat, such as ovens, gas cookers, hotplates, etc. Keep the appliance away from walls or other objects that may catch fire, such as curtains, towels (cotton or paper, etc.).
  • Place the appliance on a sturdy, flat surface and make sure there is enough space around it for sufficient ventilation. A minimum space of 10 cm is required between the appliance and the walls. Place nothing on top of the appliance.

PRIOR TO FIRST USE

  • Read all instructions carefully and keep them for future reference.
  • Remove all packaging
  • Clean the baking plate by wiping a sponge or cloth dampened in warm water.
    DO NOT IMMERSE THE UNIT AND DO NOT RUN WATER DIRECTLY ONT THE COOKING SURFACES.
  • Dry with a cloth or paper towel.
  • For best results, lightly coat the baking plate with a little cooking oil or cooking spray.

Notice: When your appliance is heated for the first time, it may emit slight smoke or odor. This is normal with many heating appliances. This does not affect the safety of your appliance.

GENERAL USE

  • Close the appliance and plug it into the wall outlet, you will notice that the ready light (4) will come on, indicating that the appliance has begun preheating.
  • It will take approximately 5 minutes to reach baking temperature, the ready light (4) will goes off.
  • Put the butter on the baking plate (1).
  • The ready light (4) will go on again.
  • Bake for about 6 to 12 minutes, the ready light (4) goes off again, or until golden brown, adjusting the time to suit your own individual taste.
  • Remove the poffertjes with the help of a plastic spatula. Never use metal tongs or a knife as these can cause damage to the non-stick coating of the baking plate (1).
  • Once you are finished cooking, disconnect the plug from the wall outlet and leave unit open to cool.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

  • Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool before cleaning. The unit is easier to clean when slightly warm.
    Never immerse the appliance in water or place in dishwasher.
  • Wipe the baking plate with a soft cloth to remove food residue. For baked on food residue squeeze some warm water mixed with detergent over the food residue then clean with a non abrasive plastic scouring pad or place wet kitchen paper over the plate to moisten the food residue.
  • Do not use anything abrasive that can scratch or damage the non-stick coating.
  • Do not use metal utensils to remove your foods, they can damage the non-stick surface.
  • Wipe the outside of the appliance with a damp cloth only. Do not clean the outside with any abrasive scouring pad or steel wool, as this will damage the finish. Do not immerse in water or any other liquid.
  • Do not place in the dishwasher.
  • Avoid the use of scouring pads or harsh detergents as they may damage the surface.
    Rinse and dry thoroughly with a clean, soft cloth and replace.
