INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

Characteristics
The walker consists of a splint in the shape of a shoe which is made of PVC and two collateral, stabilizing splints with a hinged ROM system enabling angle adjustment. The orthosis is equipped with a material inner liner which is air permeable and removes excessive heat and moisture perfectly. The walker is equipped with a system of circumferential straps that enable individual adjustment of stabilization force and with profiled anti-sliding sole which facilitates the patient possibly physiological gait.

Application

The walker is used in the post-traumatic and post-operative rehabilitation process to limit the range of mobility in the ankle joint and to improve functional activities. The orthosis stabilizes the foot and the shin in plantarflexion or ankle joint flexion position in post-traumatic injuries in the area of the foot and shin.

How to put on (in a sitting position with the leg slightly bent at the knee joint).

  • First, unbuckle the circumferential straps, then unfasten and pull out the liner. Put the liner on the leg, and if necessary, use additional filling cushions included in the set. Fasten the liner and then insert it into the walker and fasten the circumferential straps.
  • Adjusting the flex angle. Open the hinge cap cover and turn it to the appropriate angle locations (plantar flexion or dorsal flexion). Insert the first pin setting the required angular value in the lower part of the hinge, and the second wedge in the hole with the same angular value but in the upper part of the hinge. Set the second hinge in the same way.
  • It is possible to quickly lock the 20° angle with two additional holes in the lower parts of the hinge “20LOCK” (plantar flexion or dorsal flexion).
  • If you want to set the natural position of the foot, both pins on the hinge should be plugged in setting the value of 0°.
  • The screw in the hinge is used only to lock the angle value. It must be tightened if you want to lock the hinge settings at 0°, 7.5°, 15°, 22.5° or 30° (adjustment wrench included).
  • Possible flexion angle settings
    • Plantar Flexion 0°; 7.5°; 15°; 22.5°; 30°; 37.5°; 45°
    • Dorsal Flexion 0°; 7.5°; 15°; 22.5°; 30° ; 37.5°; 45°
