Licensing and installation guide After purchasing downloadable software from Thomann, you will receive an e-mail with an activation code from us.
Download and activate the software directly from the manufacturer’s website.
In order to use the Universal Audio software plug-ins, you’ll need a free customer account for the “iLok” copy protection programme. Once you have this, you can save your Universal Audio plug-in licence in the iLok cloud or, if you so choose, on a special iLok USB drive.

Step 01
iLok customer account
If you do not have an iLok customer account, please register at: https://www.ilok.com/#!registration
You’ll be immediately asked to choose a “User ID”.
This can be any name or just your e-mail ad-dress – as long as this name or address is still available.
Once you have registered with iLok, you can download the free iLok License Manager for your operating system (Windows or Mac OS X).

Step 02
Installation
Now, please install the iLok License Manager and sign in to the programme with the ID and password previously chosen. The copy protection software is now ready for use.
iLok ID
When you have an iLok ID, please go the website of Universal Audio: https://www.uaudio.de/my/redeem
Step 03
Activation Code
Please enter your e-mail address and the activa-tion code you have received from Thomann here.
If you already have a customer account with Universal Audio, please use the same e-mail address you used when registering.
Step 04
Customer account
Otherwise, you’ll be given the option in the following steps to generate a new customer account.
Alternatively, you can use this link to create a new account directly: https://www.uaudio.de/my/account/create/
Step 05
iLok
You’ll find a menu on the left side of your customer account page.
Please select “iLok” from this menu to enter your iLok ID.
In future, all newly activated UA licences will be automatically assigned to your personal iLok account.
Now, download the “UA Connect” installation programme for your operating system (Windows or macOS) and launch the installation by doubleclicking on the downloaded file.

Please register with your customer account in “UA Connect”.
Step 06
Licences
You will then get to an overview of all your Universal Audio licences. Please click on “ACTIVATE LICENSE” in the entry for your new software.
Your licence has now been activated on your computer.
PLEASE NOTE
Per the standard settings, your licence will be stored in the free “iLok Cloud“. When you use the plug-in, your computer must be connected to the internet.
Alternatively, you can also move your licence to the iLok USB drive linked above using the iLok License Manager. If this drive is connected to your computer, you can also work with the Universal Audio plug-ins when you are offline.
Download
Once your licence has been activated, please click “DOWNLOAD” in the same place in “UA Connect”.
Your plug-in will now be downloaded and immediately installed
When you next launch your recording programme, you’ll find your new plug-in in the list of effect plug-ins.
