Fabric Requirements

  • Make a 2 “quilt sandwiches”. Each “sandwich” consists of:
  • 2 pieces of fabric (muslin will work fine) cut 14” square 1 piece of batting cut 14” square. Place the batting between the two pieces of fabric. Run a basting stitch around the edge of the sandwich to secure the three layers together.
  • 6 fabric strips cut 2 ½” by 12” for the binding

Tools Required

  • Rotary Cutter
  • Ruler 6 1/2” x 24” or 6 1/2” x 18”
  • ¼” foot for your machine
  • Fabric scissors
  • Marking pencil or chalk
  • Neutral sewing thread
  • Size 80 micro tex sharp sewing machine needles
  • Pins
  • Seam Ripper

Pre-class homework

  • Make the quilt sandwiches
  • Cut the fabric strips for the binding
