Our balcony/deck/fence privacy screen/cover/panel or shade cloth fabric is muti-functional, it’s a privacy screen as well as a shade sail. The screen is well-made. Our screens can be used for both residence and commercial and is constructed to last.

What You’ll Need

  • Privacy screen, shade cloth, or mesh fabric
  • Zip ties (UV-resistant for outdoor use)
  • Scissors or utility knife
  • Tape measure (optional)

Instructions

Position the Screen
Unroll the screen and line it up with your fence. Start at one end and make sure it’s level. You may want a second person to help hold it in place.

Start at the Top
Secure the screen to the top rail of the fence using zip ties. Insert a zip tie through a grommet (if available) or around the fabric edge, then around the fence wire or post. Tighten securely but don’t over-tighten.

Work Your Way Down
Continue adding zip ties down the screen at regular intervals (about every 12–18 inches) to ensure even tension and prevent sagging.

Repeat Across the Fence
Move horizontally across the fence, repeating the same process. Make sure the screen stays taut and aligned.

Trim Excess
Cut off any excess zip tie tails with scissors or a utility knife for a clean look.

Tips

  • Use black or green zip ties to blend with most screens or fences.
  • For chain-link fences, weave the zip tie through the mesh.
  • In windy areas, secure the screen more frequently or use heavy-duty zip ties.

FAQs

What type of screen can I use on a fence?
You can use privacy screens, shade cloths, mesh netting, or tarps with grommets. Choose UV-resistant materials for outdoor durability.

Do I need grommets to use zip ties?
No. While grommets make attachment easier and neater, you can still loop zip ties directly through the screen fabric, especially with reinforced edges.

How far apart should I place the zip ties?
Space zip ties about every 12–18 inches along the top, sides, and bottom for a secure and even hold.
