Quick Guide

Integrate the module into Textron Aviation host products or systems. Ensure the host product is evaluated for simultaneous transmission requirements. Install approved antennas via MMCX connectors. Maintain a minimum distance of 20 cm between the module’s radiator and nearby persons during operation. For systems with multiple transmitters, maintain a minimum separation distance of 10 cm between antennas unless further evaluation is performed. Label the host product with the required FCC and IC statements.\

This equipment has been tested and found to comply with the limits for a Class B digital device, pursuant to Part 15 of the FCC Rules. Integrator host products may use the module without additional FCC / ISED certification if they meet the following conditions. Otherwise, additional

FCC / ISED approvals may be required:

  • The host product with the module installed must be evaluated for simultaneous transmission requirement;
  • The user manual for the host product must clearly indicate the operating requirements and conditions that must be observed to ensure compliance with current FCC / ISED RF exposure guidelines.

Per FCC KDB 996369 D03 OEM Manual v01, the following conditions must be followed when using this module:

List of applicable FCC rules

This module complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules. This module has been certified by the FCC for integration into host products in a mobile or fixed configuration without further testing. Additional evaluation may be required for configurations not covered by the original certification.

Summarize the specific operational use conditions

This module is intended for integration into Textron Aviation host products or systems under the control of Textron Aviation. Integration shall be performed only by Textron Aviation or parties authorized by Textron Aviation.
The module may be installed in systems incorporating other transmitters provided that simultaneous transmission and RF exposure compliance have been evaluated.
The module is intended to be operated according to the limitations, antenna types, and configurations described in this document. Modifications to the module, antenna system, or operating parameters not expressly approved by Textron Aviation may void FCC authorization.

Limited module procedures
Not applicable.

Trace antenna designs
Not applicable.

RF exposure considerations

This equipment complies with FCC radiation exposure limits set forth for an uncontrolled environment. This equipment should be installed and operated with a minimum distance of 20 cm between the radiator and nearby persons.

Antennas

The following antennas have been certified for use with this module. Antennas of the same type with equal or lower gain than 1.0 dBi may also be used with this module.

List of approved antennas:
Omni-directional, TRAB24/49003P, 0.7 dB
This module is intended for use with external antennas connected via MMCX connectors.
Installation shall be performed by professional personnel.
When installed in host systems with multiple transmitters, a minimum separation distance of 10 cm should be maintained between antennas unless additional evaluation has been performed.

Label and compliance information
The products that contain this module must be labeled in accordance with FCC Part 15.19 on the outside of the product so as to be easily seen by the consumer. The label must be permanent and include the following statement:
“Contains FCC ID: 2BRLA6670110 and IC: 34419-6670110”.

Information on test modes and additional testing requirements
This transmitter was tested in a standalone condition. Any co-located or simultaneous transmission with other transmitters may require additional testing.

Additional testing, Part 15 Subpart B disclaimer
This transmitter module is tested as a subsystem and its certification does not cover the FCC Part 15 Subpart B (unintentional radiator) rule requirements applicable to the final host. The final host will still need to be reassessed for compliance to this portion of rule requirements if applicable.

Note EMI Considerations

The host manufacturer should follow FCC KDB guidance for module integration and RF design best practices to ensure that the final host product does not introduce unintentional emissions or non-compliant behavior due to interactions between host components.

How to make changes

Changes or modifications made to this module not expressly approved by Textron Aviation may void the FCC authorization to operate this equipment.

FCC / ISED Compliance Statement

NOTICE:
This device complies with Part 15 of the FCC Rules and contains license-exempt transmitter(s)/receiver(s) that comply with Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada’s licence-exempt RSS standard(s).

Operation is subject to the following two conditions:

  1. this device may not cause harmful interference, and
