Port Ethernet Switch

Installation

◼ Desktop mounting
Paste the footpad (if any) to the recess on the bottom of the switch. Horizontally place the switch right-side up on a big enough, clean, stable and flat desktop.

◼ Wall mounting

Tenda S105V10 5 Port Ethernet Switch - icon 1 Note
− The switch can only be installed on non-flammable walls, such as a concrete wall.
− Do NOT install the switch with air vents facing downward; otherwise, there will be potential safety hazards.

Through wall-mounting slot
Use this method for switches with two wall-mounting slots on the bottom.

  1. Use a hammer drill to drill 2 holes (diameter: 6 mm) on the wall and keep the two holes on a horizontal line.
  2. Knock the plastic anchors into the holes using a rubber hammer. Use a screwdriver to fix the screws into the plastic anchors.
The distance between the inside surface of the screw header and the edge of the plastic anchor should not be less than 2.5 mm, to make sure that the switch can be hung on the screws firmly.
  3. Align the two wall-mounting slots on the bottom of the switch with the two screws on the wall, and then slide the switch to fit in the screws until it is firmly hung on the screws.

Through L-shaped bracket
Use this method if two L-shaped brackets are provided.

  1. Fix the two L-shaped brackets to both sides of the switch with the included screws.
  2. Place the switch horizontally onto the wall with its RJ45 ports facing upward, and then mark the screw holes on the wall with a marker.
  3. Drill holes in the marked positions, and then hammer the expansion bolts (self-prepared) into the holes.
  4. Insert the screws (self-prepared) through the holes of the two L-shaped brackets, and secure the screws into the expansion bolts with a screwdriver. Ensure that the switch is installed firmly with its RJ45 ports facing upward.

Rack mounting (to a standard 19-inch rack)
Use this method if two L-shaped brackets are provided.

  1. Ensure that the rack is stable, level and properly grounded.
  2. Fix the two L-shaped brackets to both sides of the switch with the included screws.
  3. Choose a proper height and fix the L-shaped brackets to the rack with screws (self-prepared). Ensure that the switch is stable on the rack.

Connection

  1. Connect to RJ45 port.
Connect the switch to the RJ45 port of the peer network device by using an Ethernet cable. The uplink port is connected to a LAN port of the router or NVR, and the downlink port is connected to such devices as computer, AP and security camera.
  2. Connect to SFP or SFP+ port (if any).
Insert the SFP (or SFP+) optical module (self-prepared) into the SFP (or SFP+) port of the switch, then insert one end of the optical fiber into the SFP (or SFP+) optical module, and connect the other end to the peer device.
  3. Power on the device.
    – Connect the switch to a power outlet with the included power cord or power adapter (if any).
    – If the switch supports PoE power supply, you can connect its PoE port to a PoE IN power supply device that meets the switch power receiving standard with an Ethernet cable.

If there is a management IP address on the label of the switch, you can perform the following steps to enter the web UI of the switch, and configure the switch.

  1. Connect the computer to an RJ45 port of the switch using an Ethernet cable.
  2. Set the IP address of Ethernet (or Local Area Connection) of the computer to the same network segment of the switch’s IP address. For example, if the IP address of the switch is 10.16.16.168, the IP address of the computer can be set to 10.16.16.X (X is 2-254, and is not occupied by other devices), and the subnet mask is 255.255.255.0.
  3. Launch a web browser, input the management IP address of the switch in the address bar, and enter the web login page of the switch.

After successfully logging in to the web UI of the switch, you can configure the switch.
