Troubleshooting
Problem | Solution |
---|---|
The appliance has stopped working. | Connect the appliance to the power outlet and switch it on. Check if the voltage indicated on the appliance matches the mains voltage. Do not fill the water reservoir beyond the MAX indication. Remove impurities from the appliance. |
Water is leaking from the appliance. | Ensure the water reservoir is not filled beyond the MAX indication. Remove any impurities from the appliance. |
The appliance takes too long to brew coffee. | Remove impurities from the appliance. |
The appliance emits excessive noise and steam during the brewing process. | Check for any impurities obstructing the appliance. If necessary, remove the impurities. |
Coffee grounds are in the carafe. | Do not put too much coffee powder in the filter. Ensure the carafe is placed on the warming plate with the spout facing the appliance (not sideways). Use the correct size of paper filter (type 1 x 4 or #4). Ensure the paper filter is not torn. Use the correct proportion of coffee to water. Check if the paper filter is folded. Use the correct size of paper filter (type 1 x 4 or #4). |
The coffee is too weak. | Use the correct proportion of coffee to water. Ensure the paper filter is not torn. |
The coffee is not hot enough. | Check if the carafe is correctly placed on the warming plate. We recommend brewing more than three cups of coffee to ensure it reaches the right temperature. Do not use cold milk directly from the refrigerator. If your coffee maker has a metal carafe, pre-heat the metal carafe with hot tap water before starting to brew coffee. |
The carafe has less coffee than expected. | Check if the carafe is placed correctly on the warming plate. If the carafe is not placed correctly, dripping may prevent coffee from exiting the filter. |
Difficult residues in the metal carafe. | To remove stubborn residues, fill the carafe with hot water and add one tablespoon of baking soda. Let the baking soda solution sit in the metal carafe for some time. Then, empty the carafe and use a soft brush to remove residues. Rinse the carafe with potable water. |
The filter overflows while the appliance is brewing coffee. | Check if you have placed the filter holder correctly in the appliance (refer to image 3 in the chapter). If the filter holder is not in the correct position, the anti-drip protection will not function, which can cause the filter holder to overflow. If the carafe remains out of the appliance for more than 20 seconds during preparation, the filter holder will start to overflow. |
Descaling
Remove impurities from the coffee maker when you notice excessive steam or when the brewing time increases. It is recommended to descale the coffee maker every two months. Use only white vinegar for descaling, as other products may damage the coffee maker.
