Getting Started & Setup
Initial Activation Notice
Charge your SumUp Terminal fully using the provided USB-C charging cable before first use. Power on the device by pressing and holding the side power button, then log in using your SumUp merchant credentials.
- Network Connection: Connect to your local Wi-Fi network or utilize the built-in SIM card for cellular connectivity to ensure instant transaction processing.
- Merchant Account Sync: Ensure your catalog and account details are synchronized properly through your SumUp profile dashboard.
Accepting Payments & Printing Receipts
Processing Transactions
- Enter the charge amount directly on the touchscreen and tap “Charge”.
- Prompt the customer to tap their contactless card/ device, insert their chip card, or swipe the magstripe.
Thermal Receipt Printing
- Once the transaction is approved successfully, select “Print Receipt” on the screen.
- Tear the printed thermal receipt gently upwards along the serrated metal edge.
Loading Thermal Paper & Maintenance
Paper Roll Replacement: Open the printer compartment cover at the top of the terminal. Insert a standard thermal paper roll with the loose end feeding from the bottom upwards, leaving a small tail outside before closing the cover firmly.
Cleaning: Wipe the touchscreen and casing with a clean, slightly damp, lint-free cloth. Avoid harsh chemical cleaners or abrasive materials.
Storage: Store the terminal in a clean, dry environment within recommended operating temperatures.
