Self-service terminals usually present information about available products or services via an electronic display or touch screen. Presentation of information in this exclusively visual format discriminates against those who are unable to see, read or interact with a touch screen.

NavBar SF™ is a highly tactile interface that makes audible navigation and selection of screen based content possible. NavBar SF is designed for use with the Storm AudioComm Module (supplied separately) which enables audible content to be communicated to the user through a personal headset or cochlea implant. Audible content can be navigated and selections made by pressing the NavBar SF’s distinctively shaped tactile keys.
The specific keypad detailed in this document is a smaller footprint (SF) version of other keypads included in the wider NavBar range. NavBar SF is easier for those with limited dexterity to operate and presents an aesthetically less obtrusive installation. NavBar SF is designed for under-panel installation.

Successful implementation of the NavBar SF™ requires compliant customer interface software featuring synthesized or recorded audible voice content.
NavBar SF™ is an RNIB accredited “Tried and Tested” tactile interface device, for use as part of an ADA compliant audible content navigation system.

By use of the NavBar™ utility software, default illumination status and ‘wake-up’ behaviour can be selected. The USB codes can also be changed. Connection to the host is via a single USB cable.
