Product Usage Instructions:
Prepare Your Frame:
– Attach a measuring tape or ruler to the frame using cellotape
or masking tape.
– Ensure the tape runs straight without any kinks and does not
obstruct the view inside the frame.
Set Up Your Bike:
– Place your bike against a contrasting background for easy
identification of frame edges.
– Ensure the bike is positioned as vertically as possible.
Position Your Camera:
– Stand at least 3m back from the bike frame for optimal
results.
– Crouch down to align the camera horizontally with the center
of the frame.
Take the Photo and Check:
– Take a high-resolution photo from the specified distance.
– Ensure tape markings are clearly visible and legible in the
image.
– Include bike details (make, model, size, year) in the email
along with the photo.
FAQ:
I cannot see the ruler/tape markings in the image taken from a
distance. Can I send you an additional close-up photo to show you
the markings?
No, additional close-up photos are not accepted as scaling
relies on the original image clarity.
Can I just move closer to see the tape markings? Why do I need
to be so far away from the bike?
Closeness may distort image perspective leading to inaccuracies
in frame bag fit. Distance ensures correct sizing.
Can I send you the dimensions of the frame or the geometry
chart?
Dimensions on a photo are preferred for accurate scaling and
fitting. Sending additional data may not be necessary.
Taking a photo template
Please read these instructions carefully and use the checklist to ensure a usable photo. Capturing this photo can require persistence and precision, and will pay off in the form of a perfectly fitting bag for your frame.
Prepare your frame
Full frame bags take all bottle cages off and return the bolts to the holes Half-frame bags fit bottle cages and place bottles in the cages so the bag can be made to accommodate them.
Attach a ruler, tape measure to the frame
– Attach the measuring tape or ruler to the frame. You can use cellotape or masking tape.
– Ensure the measuring reference (ruler or tape) runs straight and does not have any kinks near the frame
– Ensure the measurement reference (ruler or tape,) does not obstruct the view of the inside of the frame.
Set up your bike
– Place your bike up against a contrasting background so the edges of the frame are easy to identify
– Ensure the bike is as close to vertical as possible.
Position your camera
– Walk a minimum of 3m back from the bike frame (more is better if your camera is good) – Crouch down so the camera is in the same horizontal plane as the centre of the frame.

Checklist
– I am sending ONLY ONE high resolution photo. Please confirm in the email that the photo was taken from at least 3m from the bike.
– The markings (divisions) every 1cm or 1in on the tape can be clearly seen and pinpointed in the image (you may need to zoom into the image on your phone or computer to check this). The numbers on the tape need to be legible (but not super clear) in order for me to scale the image.
– I have included the make, model, size and year of the bike in the email.

Tips
– Ensure you have good lighting, outside but out of direct sunlight is ideal – Use a digital camera if you have one – If you have an optical zoom on your camera you can use this to zoom in before taking
the image to get better definition – Use a ruler/tape with high contrast markings, black on white is ideal
FAQ
I cannot see the ruler/tape markings in the image taken from a distance. Can I send you an additional close up photo to show you the markings?
No sorry. I know this can be frustrating, however when I receive your photo I use a computer programme to scale up the image to a life size template. To do so, I zoom right into your image and pick two very specific measurement points on your ruler/tape. Therefore, it is vital that these markings are clearly visible on the original image (not provided via a second close up photo).
Can I just move closer to see the tape markings? Why do I need to be so far away from the bike?
It is all about perspective. While the human eye can look at the image and imagine the bike in 3D, our cameras and the computer programme cannot. The closer the camera is to the bike, the more the 2D shape of the frame can change. A photo taken closer than 3m will result in a distorted/wrong size image and ultimately a poor fitting frame bag! Ensuring you are the at the correct distance ensures the correct perspective and a nicely fitting frame bag.
Can I send you the dimensions of the frame or the geometry chart?
It is very hard to make an accurately fitting frame bag based off measurements of the frame. Given that I am working with angles and potentially curves, even a tiny error in measurement can result in large discrepancies across the frame bag.
