Installation
(Optional) Rack Mount the KVM Switch
- Place the Mounting Brackets on each side of the KVM Switch. Align the Holes in the Mounting Brackets with the Holes on the sides of the each side of the KVM Switch.
- Insert four Screws through each Mounting Bracket and into the KVM Switch.
- Tighten each Screw using a Phillips Head Screwdriver.
- Locate a suitable location, in the EIA-310 Compliant Rack Space, to mount the KVM Switch.
Note: The KVM Switch requires 1U of rack-space.
If the EIA-310 Compliant Rack Space uses square mounting holes, install Cage Nuts (not included) into the square mounting holes on the 1U of EIA-310 Compliant Rack Space.
Place the KVM Switch into the rack-space and align the mounting holes on the Mounting Brackets with the mounting points on the rack space (e.g. the cage nuts, if used).
Use Cabinet Screws (not included) to secure the KVM Switch to the rack. If not using cage nuts or M5/M6 treaded rack posts, the appropriate mounting hardware for the rack should be used.
Note: Ensure the screws are properly tightened and the KVM Switch has no movement.
The KVM Switch is now installed into the 19-inch EIA-310 Compliant Rack Space.
Connect the Console
Note: Power off all Computers, Displays, and Peripherals before completing the following steps.
Connect the DisplayPort Display to the DisplayPort Output Port, located on the rear of the KVM Switch, using a DisplayPort Cable (sold separately).
Connect a USB Mouse and a USB Keyboard to the Console USB HID Ports, located on the rear of the KVM Switch.
(Optional) Connect up to two additional USB HID Devices to the remaining USB HID Ports, located on the front of the KVM Switch.
(Optional) Connect Speakers, Headphones, or similar Loudspeaker Device to the 3.5mm Audio Output, located on the rear of the KVM Switch, using a 3.5mm TRS Audio Cable (sold separately).
Connect the PCs
- Use a DisplayPort Cable (sold separately) to connect a DisplayPort Source Device to the DisplayPort Input, located on the rear of the KVM Switch.
- Connect a USB to USB Type-B Cable (sold separately) from a USB Port on the Computer to the PC 1 USB Host Connection, located on the rear of the KVM Switch.
- (Optional) Connect a 3.5mm Audio Cable (sold separately) from a 3.5mm Audio Output on the Computer to the PC 1 Audio Input, located on the rear of the KVM Switch.
- Repeat Steps 1 to 3 for the remaining PCs.
- Connect the included Power Adapter from an available Wall Outlet to the DC Power Input Port, located on the rear of the KVM Switch.
- Power on all connected Peripheral Devices
Hotkey Commands
Hotkey commands are keystroke sequences that initiate computer/device functions. Hotkey commands can be used to initiate KVM Switch functions. A hotkey command sequence must be initiated by the HK_LCode, followed by 1-2 additional keystrokes. Successful hotkey command inputs result in a beep.
Notes:
- All keystroke combinations must be entered in rapid succession.
- Press and release the indicated keys, unless otherwise specified.
- Numbers entered during the hotkey sequence cannot be entered using a number pad.
Hotkey Leading Code
Option 1
Scr Lck + Scr Lck
To change the leading hotkey, perform the following:
- Scr Lck + Scr Lck+ H + Caps Lck or Num Lck or F12
- Press and hold PC Selection Button 8 until the KVM Switch emits 2 beeps. Release the PC Selection Button and press the preferred leading key (Scr Lck, Caps Lck, Num Lck, or F12)
