5. Operating the Kayak

5.1 Launching and Entry

• Place the kayak in shallow water, ensuring the stern is fully supported.

• Step into the kayak one foot at a time, keeping your weight centered.
• Sit down slowly, adjusting your position until you feel balanced.

5.2 Paddling Techniques

• Hold the paddle with both hands, slightly wider than shoulder-width apart.
• For forward motion, immerse the paddle blade fully into the water near your feet and pull it back towards your hip. Alternate sides.
• To turn, paddle on one side only, or use a sweep stroke (a wide arc from front to back) on the desired turning side.
• For stopping, use a reverse stroke by pushing the paddle forward from your hip.

5.3 Fishing and Standing

• Utilize the flush mount rod holders to secure your fishing rods when not in use.
• When standing, use the Ergobar for support. Slowly and carefully rise to a standing position, keeping your weight centered over the anti-slip standing area.
