Common Troubleshooting Steps

  • Always use fresh batteries (or fully charged aids) and position devices about 4-6 inches from phone.
  • Ensure that phone is running on most recent OS and no updates are pending.
  • If phone cannot find the hearing aids, ensure they are not currently connected to another Bluetooth device.
  • If hearing aids will not connect to app: for iPhone, go back into Accessibility, forget devices, repeat initial pairing process, and then reattempt connection in app; for Android, delete all hearing aid pairings from Bluetooth settings, restart phone and then reattempt connection in app.
  • If difficulties persist, shut phone down completely and reboot. Once phone has restarted, reattempt connection to devices.
  • If only one device will connect, ensure that both devices are shown as R + L. If shown on separate lines you will need to consult with your hearing care professional. If shown together, touch on connected device and forget. Restart phone, place hearing aids into Bluetooth pairing mode and reattempt connection. (iPhone only)
  • A ‘last resort’ step is to delete app and go to Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings (this will erase stored Wi-Fi passwords so be sure to have those available). Once phone reboots, reinstall app and retry connection.

    Question

How do I use the Sonic TV adapter with my hearing aids?

    Answer

While the provided SONIC Bluetooth Pairing User Guide focuses primarily on pairing hearing aids with smartphones and the SoundLink 2 App, it does confirm that the app includes a Streaming Equalizer to adjust audio from compatible accessories like the TV adapter.

To use a Sonic TV Adapter with your hearing aids, you generally need to follow these steps (based on standard Sonic accessory protocols):

    • Power: Ensure the TV Adapter is connected to a power source and your TV's audio output (Toslink optical, RCA, or 3.5mm jack).
    • Pairing Mode: Place your hearing aids in pairing mode by opening and closing the battery doors (or removing them from the charger).
    • Connection: Place the hearing aids on top of or very close to the TV Adapter. The adapter's indicators will typically flash during pairing and turn solid once connected.
    • Control: Once paired, you can switch to the TV Adapter program using the button on your hearing aids or via the Remote Control section of the SoundLink 2 App.

For specific compatibility details regarding your hearing aid model and the TV Adapter, Sonic recommends visiting www.sonici.com/compatibility.
