USE
The portable device is ideal for use at home, at work or on holiday. It’s built-in battery can be charged via a USB-C cable. Its stereo speakers can be connected wirelessly or wirelessly to external devices such as mobile phones or computers. It also has a USB/microSD card MP3/WAV player. It also charges your phone wirelessly when placed on top – if it is suitable. With its clock, alarm and natural “white noise” functions to help you fall asleep, it is a practical addition to nightstands.
CHARGING THE BATTERY
- The battery should be charged before the first use. Connect the supplied USB-C charging cable to the DC5V socket on the back. Connect the other end to a standard USB charger (not included) with a recommended charging current of 1A or more. Recommended chargers are SA 24USB, SA 50USB, and SA 20PPS. The latter – or a similar 2A (or greater) QC or PD fast charger – is required if wireless charging is to be used.
When charging, the red light next to the charging socket indicates the process. When the automatic charging is complete, the red light goes out. At this point – or after 5 hours at the latest – remove the charging cable and then put the device into use. The charging time for a fully discharged battery is approximately 3.5 hours. This gives approximately 7 hours of operation from the built-in battery at medium volume. This will depend on the volume setting, the selected mode, the style of music and the ambient temperature. The test was conducted with the radio listening, at room temperature, without a lamp.
- In general, listening – especially at higher volumes – while charging is not recommended. This will increase the charging time and may cause additional noise and overheating. It can reduce battery life.
- A sinking battery can cause a loss of sound quality, BT connection, and reduced volume and brightness. Recharge the discharged battery immediately!
- For a longer battery life, keep the battery charged when not in use!
- The type of battery used is lithium-ion. No maintenance required. At the end of its lifetime, it can be removed by a professional and must be treated as hazardous waste. The screws under the rubber feet of the base must be unscrewed.
- When the device is switched off, the built-in battery charger works when the charging cable is connected. The actual current consumption depends on the current battery status and the active function of the device.
COMMISSIONING AND OPERATION
- Switch it on by pressing and holding the On/Off/Lighting button on the far right. Press briefly to select the lighting mode or to switch the lighting off.
- After switching on, BT mode is active and the BT indicator is shown on the display. Connect your phone for the first time in the usual way. If the connection is successful, you will hear a beep and the BT indicator will light up next to the clock.
- The signal source you want to operate can be selected by long pressing the M (Mode/Play/Pause/Receive) button: BT – white noise – microSD – USB – FM radio. Short press to enter pause/play mode, FM radio to start auto-tune. The volume is controlled by holding down one of the arrows. Pressing briefly will step through the programmes. (This is not guaranteed in BT mode as it is device-dependent.)
- The AUX wired input is automatically activated when you plug in the audio jack cable (not included).
WIRELESS BT CONNECTION
The device can be paired with other devices communicating using the Bluetooth protocol within a range of up to 10 metres. You can then listen to music played on your mobile phone, tablet, notebook and similar devices. After switching on, connect wirelessly first. BT mode is waiting to pair, and no device is connected when the small BT indicator flashes on the display. Place the device to be paired close by and search for BT devices nearby, including this speaker, as described in its user manual. Connect the two devices. Once successfully connected, the BT indicator light will flash continuously, and a short beep will be heard. The desired programme will then be played on the speaker. The playback application of the device that is playing (e.g. on a mobile phone) can usually be controlled remotely using the buttons on the control panel. These functions are not guaranteed, as communication with the mobile device depends on the device. If available, the following functions can be remotely controlled: play and pause (by a short press of the M button) and step forward and backwards (using the two arrow buttons). The latter also requires a short press of the M button, because a long press controls the volume.
- You can adjust the sound level on the connected external device using its controls. You can install a tone control application on a mobile device.
- One speaker can be paired with one BT device at a time. For example, a phone.
- If the wireless connection is lost and does not reconnect, press the M mode button to reactivate pairing mode. If necessary, switch the voice box or BT mode off and on again on your mobile device.
- The range available depends on the other device and the environmental conditions (e.g. walls, human bodies, other electrical appliances, movement…)
- Abnormal operation, noise may be caused by nearby electrical appliances, but this does not indicate a malfunction of the device!
- Abnormal operation may be caused by the specific characteristics of the external device; this does not indicate a malfunction of the device! BT functionality may be limited depending on the external device.
ANSWERING A PHONE CALL
- If you receive a phone call on the connected mobile phone while listening to music, music playback is paused. You can answer the call without touching the phone and talk to the caller using the built-in microphone in the speaker. After the call, start playback if it is not automatically resumed.
Mode/Play/Pause/Receive call button:
- For an incoming call, press to receive the call.
- Press repeatedly to end the call.
- Press and hold if you reject an incoming call.
- Quick double press to dial the last number.
TRUE WIRELESS STEREO BT CONNECTION
TWS mode: two speakers of the same type and with the same BT name can be used together and pair with your phone. In this case, the two devices can be combined in a wireless stereo that is capable of sounding both the left and right channels, forming a sound system. Switch both speakers on in BT mode (do not connect them to your phone). If successful, you will hear a beep from both devices when they are connected. The BT indicator on one device will now light steadily.
Only then can you find and connect to the sound system on your mobile device and start playing music. You will only see one device on your phone. Once connected, the BT indicator on the second device will stay lit. You’ll enjoy dual volume and stunning stereo surround sound. It is recommended to place the two speakers at least 1.5-2 metres apart.
- Before pairing TWS, neither the speaker nor the phone should be connected to any other device.
- In TWS mode, one of the voice boxes is the “master”; this is the voice box that is connected to the phone.
- When the main sound box is operated, the other sound boxes behave in the same way, e.g. volume control, play and pause, step, and switch off.
- Pressing and holding the Timer/TWS button will disconnect BT TWS.
FM RADIO
Press and hold the M button repeatedly to display the FM signal and the reception frequency. After a short press of the M button, it automatically searches for and stores the radio stations that can be received at the place of use. Then, a short press of the arrow keys scrolls the programmes. Pressing and holding these buttons controls the volume. When switched to radio mode, the last programme listened to is heard.
- Before tuning, plug in the charging cable (leaving the other end free), and it will act as an antenna to improve reception. Adjust the wire in the direction that gives the best reception!
- The automatic search will stop if it detects changing signal strength – this does not always mean finding an actual radio programme.
- Radio reception depends to a large extent on the geographical location of use and the current reception conditions.
- Do not place large metal objects or electrical equipment near the appliance!
MP3/WAV DOWNLOADING FROM USB/microSD BACKUP
- The player is ready when the power is on. Carefully insert the microSD card or USB storage. Use the M button to activate this function (long press). The USB message is displayed.
- Press the M button to pause playback, or press the arrow buttons briefly to select the desired programme, one at a time. Press and hold the latter to adjust the volume.
- The recommended file system for the storage device is FAT32. Do not use a memory device with NTFS formatting.
- If the device does not make a sound or does not recognise the storage device, remove it and then reconnect it. Switch the device off and on again if necessary.
- Only remove the external storage device after you have switched to a different source or switched off the device. Otherwise, data may be corrupted. Do not remove the connected external unit during playback!
- The storage device can only be inserted in one way. If it gets stuck, turn it over and try again; don’t force it! Do not touch the contacts with your hands!
- Make sure that the device protruding from the appliance cannot be damaged!
- Depending on the files being compressed, the compression software used and the characteristics of the data storage device, there may be some malfunctions that are not a fault of the device.
- Playback of copyrighted DRM files is not guaranteed!
- The playback of supported files is not always guaranteed, as it may be affected by software and hardware conditions independent of the manufacturer.
- The volume of different audio files may differ due to their different parameters.
- The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for lost or damaged data, etc., even if the data, etc. Is loIt is while using this product. It is recommended to make a backup copy of the data and programmes on the connected media to your personal computer beforehand.
- We do not recommend using a storage device larger than 64GB, as handling may slow down or lag. Only playable files are stored on the external media; the presence of foreign data/files may slow down operation or cause interference.
AUX AUDIO INPUT
A 3.5 mm input on the back allows you to connect external signal sources by wire. When the plug is plugged in, the speaker switches to this input, and AUX appears on the display.
- For the best sound quality, the volume controls on the speaker and the external playback device should be set in harmony.
TIMED SWITCH-OFF
- By briefly pressing the Timer button (
), you can choose how long it takes for the appliance to switch off: 15-30-60 minutes are shown on the display. Listen to music or nature sounds in bed before falling asleep.
SETTING THE EXACT TIME
- The display shows the correct time by default. It automatically switches back to the clock when the various settings have been completed. Pressing the leftmost Clock button (
) briefly causes the clock display to flash. Use the arrow keys to set the current time. Press
and hold to step quickly. After setting the number of hours, press the
button to move to minutes. Once you have set this, press the
button again to record the exact time. If you press and hold the button, you can choose between 24-hour and 12-hour (AM/PM) display modes.
THE ALARM
- It is possible to set the alarm time.
- The alarm clock flashes when the second Wake button (
) on the left is pressed briefly. Use the arrow keys to set the desired time. Press
and hold to step quickly. After setting the number of hours, press the button to move to minutes. Once set, press the button again to lock the time. Then move on to select the alarm sound. Use the arrow keys to select the desired sound. Finally, press the
button to lock the settings. When the alarm is active, an alarm clock symbol is shown on the display.
- The alarm will switch off after 1 minute unless you press any button earlier. As the alarm is set to sound even if the device is switched off, if you do not need it, cancel the alarm. To cancel is simple: press and hold the
button, and the alarm clock symbol will disappear from the display. You can quickly reactivate it in the same way.
- It wakes you up at the same time the next day.
- The wake-up function works even when the device is switched off and on. So, if you are disturbed by the clock light at night, you can turn it off.
- You can use it as a traditional clock without music functions if you do not connect anything to it in BT mode.
THE “WHITE NOISE” FUNCTION
- Press and hold the M button repeatedly if necessary to display NS. Use the arrow keys to select the desired hanging depth. Press and hold the arrow keys to adjust the volume. You can also adjust the off delay as described above. The speaker will then switch off automatically when you fall asleep.
THE USE OF “WHITE NOISE”
- The term “white noise” refers to sounds that drown out other sounds in the environment. These are monotonous background sounds, balanced in different frequency ranges, which help the brain to ignore distracting, unpleasant, sharp environmental sounds, sudden noises. Just think of the steady sound of a fan or a radio tuned to an idle frequency.
- According to experts, white noise can reduce stress, improve concentration, relieve headaches and suppress tinnitus. Or create a private space to work. Specifically designed to help you fall asleep and sleep more soundly in noisy environments. Not only soothing for babies, but also an effective aid to restful sleep for adults. Better quality sleep, fewer awakenings and a calmer night-time environment. Especially in noisy, urban environments near busy roads. This device plays softer white noises, the sounds of nature, 7 and has half-hour segments. For example, forest sounds, bird sounds, stream murmur, rain, fire crackling… Set the volume down. It is also recommended to set the timer for 15-30-60 minutes; it is usually not necessary to play all night. Press the M button to pause playback.
THE WIRELESS CHARGER
The top of the device features a phone holder that doubles as a wireless charger. The charger function works when the mobile phone or watch is suitable for it. Regardless of the manufacturer or brand, it must be Qi-compliant for wireless charging. In addition, the multimedia player must be connected to a fast charging external power supply for wireless phone charging to work. A minimum of 2A or 15W PD or QC fast charger is recommended; e.g. SA 20PPS.
- Only phones or watches supporting wireless charging according to the “Qi” protocol can be charged wirelessly.
- The product to be charged wirelessly must be accurately positioned and in direct contact with the charging surface. Otherwise, charging will be slower or not start at all. For example, with an incorrectly positioned phone or a phone in a thick case. If charging does not start, try moving the phone slightly away. Remove it from the case first.
- The actual charging speed available depends on the data communication between the charging pad and the phone, the distance between them and the parameters of the external power supply. Charging is slower in hot conditions.
- You can follow the charging process on the phone’s display.
- Do not place any magnetic or metal objects within 10 cm of the charging pad during use! You can leave the phone on for short periods; frequent interruptions in charging will not harm the device.
- Depending on the specific characteristics of the products to be charged, there may be malfunctions that are not due to the defects of this device. Not all Qi devices can be guaranteed to charge.
- Do not obstruct the cooling of the charger and the loaded product, as a lack of ventilation may cause overheating, malfunction or fire. Ensure proper ventilation of the appliance by professional positioning!
