  • Operating SC33 for a long time in high-powered modes will quickly heat the flashlight. This is normal.
  • Pay close attention to the proper installation of the battery. Always check that the positive end of the battery faces the flashlight’s head.
  • Please unscrew the light body half a turn to avoid unwanted activation during transport. It also prevents the battery from draining while the flashlight is in standby.
  • Avoid hitting or dropping the flashlight.

Troubleshooting and Maintenance

  • Disassembling the sealed head can damage the flashlight and void the warranty.
  • Sofirn, Ltd. recommends using high-quality brand batteries. Damage by battery leakage voids the warranty.
  • Remove the battery if the flashlight will not be used for an extended time.
  • To prevent self-discharge or accidental activation during storage or transportation, unscrew the light body by half a turn or remove the battery.
  • Every 6 months threads should be wiped with a clean cloth followed by a thin layer of silicone grease.
  • To maintain a proper level of waterproofness, replace worn-out o-rings with an approved spare.
  • Troubleshooting: Clean battery contacts regularly as dirty contacts may impair the performance of the flashlight.
  • If you experience problems (flicker, shine intermittently or failure turn on) the following root causes and solutions should be tried:
  • Reason A: The battery needs a replacement.
  • Solution: Replace the battery with an approved type of fully charged battery.
  • Reason B: Threads, PCB board contact, or other contacts are dirty.
  • Solutions: Please clean the contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.
  • Reason C: The flashlight will not turn on upon first use.
  • Solution: Please do not forget to remove the insulation sticker from the battery on first use.
  • If the above methods do not work please refer to the warranty policy before contacting your authorized distributor.

    Question

My Sofirn SC33 flashlight was dropped and now it won't turn on. The indicator light shows green when the button is pressed, but the main LED does not light up. How can I fix this?

    Answer

Based on the Sofirn SC33 manual and the symptoms described after a drop, please try the following troubleshooting steps:

    • Check for Lockout Mode: The SC33 has an automatic lockout feature. Try clicking the switch quickly 2, 3, or 4 times to see if the light unlocks and returns to normal operation.
    • Clean the Contacts: A drop can sometimes shift internal components or cause a temporary loss of contact. Unscrew the tail cap and the head (if possible) and clean the battery terminals, the threads, and the PCB contact points with a cotton swab soaked in rubbing alcohol.
    • Tighten the Body: Ensure the flashlight body and tail cap are screwed on very tightly. If the connection is slightly loose from the impact, the indicator might receive power while the main LED does not.
    • Check the Battery: Even if the indicator is green, the impact may have damaged the battery's internal structure. Try using a different 21700 battery if you have one available.

If these steps do not work, the impact may have caused internal damage to the driver or the LED emitter. Since the manual warns to "Avoid hitting or dropping the flashlight," such damage might not be covered under standard wear and tear, but you should contact Sofirn support at us@sofirnlight.com or eu@sofirnlight.com for further assistance or replacement options.
