Starting at Android 11, Delta Updates must be installed in sequential order (ascending oldest to newest); Update Package List (UPL) is no longer a supported method. In place of installing multiple sequential Deltas, a Full Update can be used to jump to any available LifeGuard Update.
LifeGuard patches include all previous fixes that are part of earlier patch releases.

1. SD660 upgrades to A14 from lower OS dessert cause data reset due to encryption mismatch, hence ZCP is released to do selective data persistence in such OS upgrade cases, which is explained in the techdocs. https://techdocs.zebra.com/lifeguard/a14/ – SDM660 Upgrade Path.
2. ssZCP will be released in cadence of A11 LG MR release to make sure it is based upon the latest Security patches as per security team guidelines. 3. Customers need to choose the right ZCP based on their source and target OS as mentioned in the tabular section of ZCP release notes. |

New Features
Restriction for skip setup wizard
- Due to new mandatory privacy requirements from Google, the Setup Wizard Bypass feature has been discontinued on devices running Android 13 and later. Consequently, it is now restricted to skip the Setup Wizard screen, and the StageNow barcode will not function during the Setup Wizard, displaying a toast message stating “Not supported.”
- If the Setup Wizard has already been completed and its data was configured to persist on the device in the past, there is no need to repeat this process following an Enterprise Reset.

- Bluetooth:
- Admin configuration support to disable Bluetooth Profiles.
- MX 14.0:
- App Manager adds the ability to
- Use the App Feature parameter to automatically launch an app or reboot the device after installation.
- Bluetooth Manager adds the ability to:
- Set individual Bluetooth Profiles as active or inactive.
- Display Manager adds the ability to
- Control the Secondary Monitor Auto-rotation when a device is placed in a cradle connected to a monitor.
- Specify a video file in the Screen Saver Path for display on the device.
- License Manager adds the ability to:
- Perform licensing actions on non-legacy Zebra licenses.
- Perform device licensing actions based on License Action type.
- Perform BadgeID licensing based on Server Type.
- UI Manager adds the ability to:
- Select a Navigation Method for switching between screens on a device.
- Control Color Inversion on the device.
- Control TalkBack feature, which speaks words displayed on the device screen.
- KeyMapping Manager adds the ability to
- Configure Double-trigger Mode to launch an app or activity.
- MX 14.1:
- Display Manager adds the ability to
- Control display of the two-line clock on the Android lock-screen clock.
Resolved Issues
- SPR55016 – Resolved an issue to remap a key with flashlight application
- SPR54952 – Resolved an issue where, ZAMS and FFD, when enabled /used simultaneously, one/both become non-functional.
- SPR54744 – Resolved an issue where in the free fall detection (FFD) feature is not functional.
- SPR54688 – Resolved an issue to support for device locked orientation persistence during device lock/unlock scenario.
- SPR55563 – Resolved an issue wherein Fix has been implemented to address the crash by programmatically correcting the database schema in Quickstep app on A11 to A14 OTA scenario.

New Features
- The Hotseat home screen “Phone” icon has been replaced by the “Files” icon (for Wi-Fi-only devices).
- The split-screen feature on Tablet devices allows you to view two apps simultaneously.
- Users can select a portion of available device storage to be used as system RAM. This feature can be turned ON/OFF by the device admin only. Please refer to https://techdocs.zebra.com/mx/powermgr/ for more details.
- Added support for DHCP Option 119, which will work only on managed devices over WLAN, and the WLAN profile should be created by the device owner.
- Added support to control BLE scan based on the application package.
- Added support for an RSSI filter for BLE scan based on the application package.
- Added support for 1x authentication in ethernet.
- Support for Cross AKM Roam and EAP TLS 1.3
- Wi-Fi Direct enhancements
- MC9300- Added support to improve battery life cycle for new battery (BT-000371-A0).

- FS40 (SSI Mode) Scanner Support with DataWedge.
- Expose the GS1 DataBar Security Level settings.
- New Configurable Focus Parameters offered for devices with SE55 Scan Engines.
- SPR 53388: Firmware Update for SE55(PAAFNS00-001-R09) Scan Engine with Critical bug fixes, and performance enhancements.
- Added support for Regular Expression checking in Free-Form OCR and Picklist + OCR workflows.
Usage Notes
- Compatible with new Power Amplifier (PA) hardware (SKY77652). WWAN SKUs manufactured after November 25, 2024, will have this new PA component and will not be allowed to downgrade below the following Android images: A13 image 13-34-31.00-TN-U00-STD, A11 image 11-51-18.00-RN-U00-STD, A10 image 10-63-18.00-QN-U00-STD and A8 image 01-83-27.00-ON-U00-STD.
- Existing customers can upgrade to A14 with data persistence using one of the following methods.
a) Using FDE-FBE conversion package (FDE-FBE conversion package – SDM660 Upgrade Path)
b) Using EMM enterprise persistence (AirWatch, SOTI)

Known Constraints
- Dessert Upgrade to A14ss will have Enterprise reset because of Encryption change from FDE to FBE.
- Customers who upgrade from A10/A11 to A13 without FDE-FBE conversion package or EMM persistence will result in data wipe.
- Dessert upgrade from A10, A11 to A13 can be done with UPL with reset command. Oreo reset command is not supported.
- EMM supporting persistence feature (primarily Airwatch/SOTI) will only work while migrating from A11 to A13.
