VP Firmware Updater System
We hereby inform you that we have released a new firmware version for the VPFlowScope M. To proceed with the firmware upgrade, and configure your products with the right pipe diameter settings and communication outputs, you need to install VPStudio 4.0.2 or later.
Download VPStudio 4 from: https://www.vpinstruments.com/service-support/software-firmware It is continuously improved, so please check for updates regularly.
Please be aware that your VPFlowScope M with firmware 3 is not compatible with older versions of VPStudio (VPStudio 1, 2 and 3).
Note that the older version VPStudio 3.2 is compatible with VPFlowScope M firmware 2.2.0 to 2.3.2 (but not VPFlowScope M firmware 3).
Warning: Read this entire instruction first, before updating your VPFlowScope M Transmitter.
Please pay attention to compatibility with versions and data logger functionality.
Upgrade your VPFlowScope M
Before upgrade:
From version 1.x.x to 3.y.y
The updater migrates the following settings from your device to the new firmware:
- Serial number
- Kind of product (VPFlowScope M without display: D000, with display: D010 and with display and datalogger: D011)
- Minimum and maximum 4..20 mA calibration value
- MAC address
- Production date
Any other settings (including e.g. Static IP) not mentioned here are not being migrated in a firmware update!
From version 2.x.x to 3.y.y
The updater migrates all settings, including those above.
Follow these steps to upgrade:
- Download the latest version of VPFlowScope M Transmitter firmware 3 from our website. Click here.
- Download VPStudio 4 from our website. Click here.
- Unzip the VPStudio 4 file and install VPStudio 4 using the Setup file.
- During VPStudio 4 installation, additionally the VP Firmware Updater is stored on your PC.
You can find the VP Firmware Updater by searching in your start menu.
Connect your VPFlowScope M via mini USB cable to the PC. Open the VP Firmware Updater and follow its instructions to update your VPFlowScope M.
Be aware the firmware needs to be on your PC to be able to select it. - Once ready, your VPFlowScope M is updated and ready to be configured via VPStudio 4.
- To update another VPFlowScope, restart the Firmware Updater first.
VPFlowScope M Transmitter firmware 3
- The VPFlowScope M Transmitter firmware 3 is a major rewrite of the VPFlowScope M Transmitter firmware 2, but it has the same features.
- Firmware 3 is required to support the VPFlowScope M Thermal Probe P220 and VPFlowScope M Thermal Probe P350 with the ABP2 pressure sensor.
- The firmware upgrade should be performed with VPStudio 4.0.2 or later.
