Downloader Utility
Remote Update of Device Firmware
This allows you to check the firmware version, or if you have been sent new firmware you can remotely update the firmware in an AudioNav that is already installed in a kiosk.
AudioNav Downloader Utility version 2.0 includes the following files
- BSL430.dll
- AudioNavApi.dll
- AudioNavDownloaderUtility.exe
- AudioNavUtility.exe
- AUDIONAV_UPDATE.BAT
- AUDIONAV_UPDATE_FIRMWARE.BAT
Checking the firmware version
Run the following command in a batch file
AudioNavDownloaderUtility -p AUDIONAV -v
This will return the installed version number
Updating the firmware version
Modify the firmware filename in the batch file AUDIONAV_UPDATE_FIRMWARE.BAT to the new version
Run the batch file
It will return 0 for failure and 1 for success.
The batch file will perform the following tasks –
Connect to the AudioNav, and then
Check the bcdDevice (from USB descriptor), to identify what hardware is connected. (either standard AudioNav or ALT AudioNav).
Read the contents of the firmware file. In ALT firmware file, there is an additional identifier added @7000 with value 10.
This allows it to check that the new firmware file matches the hardware, if it does then these steps follow :
STEP 1 Retrieve configuration data before upgrade (includes serial number, keycodes & settings)
STEP 2 Upgrading keypad using <FIRMWARE FILE>
STEP 3 Retrieve configuration data after upgrade
STEP 4 Check the configuration is correct by comparing results of before upgrade and after upgrade
