Write
The Pocketbook Core is designed to be the last notebook you’ll ever need. The pages are waterproof, tear-resistant, and reusable!
Write With the Pilot Fraxion Pen (Included)
Only use Pilot Fraxion pens and markers with the Core. To prevent smudging, allow 15 seconds for ink to bond to the page. If the pen skips, try moistening the tip.
Pilot Fraxion Pen Information
Fraxion ink disappears at 140° (60°C), so be careful about leaving your notebook and pen in a hot car, as the ink may fade.

Scan
Download the App
Use the free Pocketbook app to scan and send your page into the cloud via Rocket book’s seven symbol shortcut system! Available for iOS and Android.
Set Destinations
Go to Destinations and follow the on-screen instructions to connect the shortcut symbols to email and cloud services.
Scan and Send
Mark a symbol at the bottom of the Pocketbook page. On the Scan screen in the app, take a scan, and follow the on-screen instructions to Send to email or cloud services. To get the best scan, make sure you scan in a well-lit environment and watch out for shadows.
Handwriting Recognition (OCR)
Do some magic with your handwritten text! Go to Settings > Handwriting Recognition (OCR) to enable the following features.
Smart Titles – Auto-name scans with text between double hashtags (ex: ## Filename ##)
Smart Search – Search your handwritten text
Email Transcription – Send a full text transcription via email Bundling
Want to group your pages into one file?
- In the app, go to one of your Destinations and make sure Bundle Scans is on
- On Pocketbook pages you’d like to group together mark the symbol with Bundle Scans on
- Scan the pages in the order you’d like them to be grouped
Reuse
Erase
Dampen part of the included microfiber towel with water and wipe the page. Then wipe it down with the dry portion of the towel. Make sure the page is dry before writing on it again.
For easier erasing, use a fine mist spray bottle.
Keep Your Core Clean
It’s best to keep your Core pages wiped clean when you don’t plan to use it for a month or longer. This ensures that the pen ink doesn’t leave a residue.
Do Not Microwave Your Core
Pocketbook also makes the Wave, a microwave-to erase notebook. Please don’t confuse the Core with the Pocketbook Wave!
