Product Usage Instructions
Excavation and Sleeve Installation:
- Check with a soil engineer to determine the pile configuration and depth requirements for each site.
- Begin by trenching a small area around the utility pole.
- Attach the two half sleeves around the utility pole and secure them together using Bolts Type A: Hex bolt 5/8 x 2 x 1.5.
Helical Pile Installation:
- Use a laser tool and the pile position template to determine precise pile driving locations.
- Drive three to four helical piles into the ground using a mini excavator or skid steer equipped with a torque motor and monitor.
- Adjust the driving force to achieve the required torque based on soil testing results.
- If necessary, add pile extensions to reach the required depth and torque.
- Cut and drill holes in the top of the piles using cut templates to achieve the desired height.
Attaching Arms to Helical Piles:
- Attach the pile cap pin connector to the top of each pile and secure it with Bolts Type B: Hex bolt 7/8 x 5.
- Slide the arm opening over the pile cap pin connector and secure the arm with a Pin Nut and Pin Washer.
Attaching Arms to the Sleeve:
Align the arm with the sleeve at the correct location. Rotate the sleeve as necessary to ensure proper alignment, then secure the arm to the sleeve using Bolts Type A: Hex bolt 5/8 x 2 x 1.5.
Backfilling:
Once the installation is complete, backfill the trench around the utility pole using polyurethane foam or another approved backfill material.
