Description:
This document is a guide for users that provides the necessary information for interacting with the Capacitive Touch Keypads RV-C. This document includes a description of the device’s functionality and will expand upon the features of the device. The Capacitive Touch Keypads RV-C provides a fully customizable solution for networked buttons. Each input button on the device can be configured to be one of several different RV-C functionalities. The device gets feedback from other RV-C devices on the network to determine if which button backlights should be on and which should be off.
Operating Capacitive Touch Keypads RV-C
Momentary Input Button:
Momentary input buttons are classifed as buttons that need to be continuously held down in order for them to operate as expected. Examples of these are buttons that are used to control slideouts and awnings. While the button is being held down, the button’s backlight will illuminate. Once the button is released, the backlight will turn off.
Latching Input Button:
Latching input buttons are classifed as buttons that only need to be tapped a single time for it to perform its designated action. Examples of these are buttons that are used to turn on lights, pumps, or disconnects. These types of input buttons will illuminate when being pressed and then return to the original backlight state for a brief moment. During this time, the Capacitive Touch Keypad RV-C is waiting for a status message from the device it is controlling to confirm what state it is in. Once, the message is received, the input button illumination status will be updated accordingly.
Adjusting Brightness of Dimmable Outputs
Some devices connected to the RV-C network might be configured as dimmable devices. To be able to control the brightness of these devices, ensure that the keypad had configured that output as dimmable. Once an input’s dimmable status has been confirmed, the output can be dimmed when it is in the ON position. Holding down the input button with the output on will change the dimming value by 10% every second. If dimming value reaches the minimum 10% and the input button is still being held down, the brightness will begin to increase. If the dimming value reaches the maximum 100% and the input button is still being held down, the brightness will begin to decrease.
