SOOGM-16 Radio Replacement Interface

Product Usage Instructions:

Installation:

  1. Refer to the installation diagram provided for wiring
    connections.
  2. Connect the necessary harnesses and modules according to the
    diagram.
  3. Set the DIP switches based on your aftermarket radio brand
    (refer to the DIP SWITCH SETTINGS section).
  4. Adjust the chime volume and OnStar volume as needed.

Setting DIP Switches:

Refer to the DIP SWITCH SETTINGS section in the manual to
configure the switches based on your radio brand.

SWC Cable Connection:

  1. Plug in the 3.5mm SWC cable to the designated port on the
    module.
  2. Connect the SWC wires as follows: RED to SWC Key 1, WHITE to
    SWC Key 2, SHIELD to SWC Ground.

Selecting Audio System:

Use the built-in audio level adaptor on SOOGM-16 for proper
audio level output. Connect the male 8-pin connector to the female
8-pin on the module based on your audio system (Bose or
Non-Bose).

Chime Volume Adjustment:

To adjust the chime volume, use a screwdriver to turn the
potentiometer clockwise to increase or counter-clockwise to
decrease.

OnStar Volume Adjustment:

Refer to your vehicle’s manual for instructions on adjusting the
OnStar volume.

Backup Camera Connection:

Follow the provided instructions in the manual for connecting
the backup camera to the SOOGM-16 module.

NOTE: check the aftermarket radio’s manual to see if the SWC buttons need to be programmed.

3.5MM SWC CABLE Plug in the 3.5MM to 4-Pin SWC cable to the SWC module. NOTE: Insulate the Blue/Yellow wire or 3.5mm plug if not being used.

SELECTING THE AUDIO SYSTEM:
the SOOGM-16 has a built-in audio level adaptor that outputs the proper audio level from the aftermarket radio to 8-pin connector on the SOOGM-16 harness to the GRAY module is also labeled “Bose” and “Non Bose” to avoid confusion. (see picture below)
