Product Usage Instructions

Build Instructions

  1. Start by sorting the parts into different categories as listed
    in the manual.
  2. Follow the step-by-step instructions to assemble the lock
    box.
  3. Refer to the diagrams provided for each step to ensure correct
    assembly.
  4. Twist and align the pieces as instructed in the manual.
  5. Continue building by following the sequential steps until
    completion.

Testing and Troubleshooting

If you encounter any issues during assembly:

  • Watch the video tutorial available at crunchlabs.com/lock for
    guidance.
  • Ensure all pieces are aligned properly before tightening
    nuts.
  • If a piece doesn’t fit, double-check alignment and revisit the
    respective step.

Understanding the Lock Mechanism

In engineering, a pin secures the position of parts relative to
each other. When the correct key combination is inserted into the
Lock Box, key pins and spring-loaded driver pins align at the shear
line, allowing the box to open.

Additional Tips and Information

  • Match the shapes on the keys to the pins for successful
    operation.
  • Telescoping handles and shear pins are examples of pins used in
    various applications.

THINK
In engineering, a pin secures the position of two or more parts relative to each other.
When a key with the right combination is inserted on your Lock Box, the key pins and the spring-loaded driver pins align at the shear line to open the box.

THINK
There are many types of pins that come in various shapes and sizes, like dowel pins, cotter pins, taper pins, and shear pins. They can be found everywhere, from airplane doors to dining tables.
TELESCOPING HANDLE
Spring loaded pins engage to lock the telescoping handle in position and disengage to allow you to adjust the handle height.
LAWN MOWER
When the blade hits something too hard, the shear pin in a lawn mower is designed to shear off and break in a specific place. While you sacrifice the pin, this actually prevents damage to more important parts of the machine.
