Intended Use

The Gigabit Ethernet Signal Repeater is designed to relay data from CAM+ sensors to the Wireless Alarm Receiver Panel (WARP) if there is poor signal due to distance or obstruction.
It receives data from sensors via Mi-Wi Wireless protocol and relays them to the WARP through an Ethernet cable which connects to a network switch.
It is compatible with the following Ethernet standards:

  • 1000Base-T (Gigabit Ethernet)
  • 100Base-T (Fast Ethernet)
  • 10Base-Te (Energy-Efficient Ethernet)

Safety Precautions and Warnings

  • Use either the power adapter or Power over Ethernet (PoE), but not both at the same time. Connecting both power sources simultaneously may damage the device.
  • Only use the provided 12V power adapter. Using an unapproved adapter may cause damage or pose a safety risk.
  • For indoor use only. Do not use the power adapter or device in wet or damp environments.
  • Do not expose the device to water or moisture. This product is not water-resistant and may malfunction if exposed to liquids.
  • Operate only within the specified temperature range (0 45°C) to prevent damage or performance degradation.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the device. This may result in electric shock, fire, or voiding of certifications (CE, UKCA, FCC).
  • Ensure adequate ventilation around the device to prevent overheating. Do not cover or place inside enclosed spaces.
  • Do not use the device if the power cable or adapter is damaged. If you notice fraying, wear, or other damage, stop using it immediately and replace it.
  • This device includes a rechargeable Li-Ion backup battery (3.6V, 3350mAh). Do not replace it with a non-approved battery.
  • Do not puncture, crush, or expose the battery to fire–this can cause explosions or chemical leaks.
  • Charge the battery only through the device’s built-in charging system. Using third-party chargers may cause overheating or fire.
  • If the battery shows signs of swelling, leakage, or overheating, discontinue use immediately and contact Customer Support.
  • FCC Caution: any changes or modifications not approved by the party responsible for compliance may void your authority to operate the device.

Installation and Setup

The Gigabit Ethernet Signal Repeater is installed and set up by Checkit engineers.

Operation Instructions

The Gigabit Ethernet Signal Repeater relays data from sensors to the WARP automatically.
It should always be connected to:

  • A network switch using an Ethernet cable for data transmission
  • A power outlet (unless your network switch supports Power over Ethernet (PoE))

Note: Do not connect the power adapter if you use Power over Ethernet (PoE).
If the Gigabit Ethernet Repeater is accidentally disconnected from the power supply, nominated contacts will receive an alarm notification via call, email, and SMS.
It contains a rechargeable backup battery with a 6-hour duration in case of interruption to the power supply.

Troubleshooting

Please follow the instructions below if you receive a signal repeater alarm:

  1. Locate the repeater on site.
  2. Ensure that the:
    •  Ethernet cable is securely connected to the bottom of the repeater and the network switch
    •  Power cable is securely connected to the bottom of the repeater and the wall socket (unless you use Power over Ethernet)
Note: Do not connect the power cable if you use Power over Ethernet (PoE).
  3. Check the repeater LED.
    If it is:
    •  Solid green, you have resolved the issue
    •  Flashing red, continue to step 4.
    •  Solid amber/not lit, try another power socket or PoE port as applicable. If the LED still does not illuminate,
    a. Remove the Ethernet cable (and power cable if applicable).
    b. Press the factory reset button on the bottom of the device (the button is recessed so use a pen or paperclip).
    c. Wait 30 seconds. d. Reattach the cable(s).
  4. Check the Ethernet connection LED on the bottom of the repeater.
    If it is:
    •  Green, continue to step 5.
    •  Not lit, replace the Ethernet cable. If that doesn’t work, please contact your site IT team to request they investigate the connectivity.
  5. Check the repeater LED again.
    If it is:
    •  Green, you have resolved the issue
    • Red, please contact us.

Maintenance & Handling

  • The Gigabit Ethernet Signal Repeater will be mounted to the wall in an optimal position to receive data from sensors. Do not move or obstruct the device.
  • If necessary, clean using a dry, soft cloth only. Avoid using harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Do not drop or apply excessive force to the device, as this may damage internal components.
