Product Usage Instructions
Installation for Vehicle with RNS315/Amundsen and RCD510:
- Ensure RCD510 has a 26-pin connector on the rear
- Locate OBD-port and remove cover
- Turn on ignition (position 2, do not start engine)
- Wait until the head-unit has booted
- Plug coder into OBD-port
- Leave coder for about 30 seconds in OBD-port
- Remove coder from the OBD-port
Installation for Vehicle with RNS510/Columbus:
- Locate OBD-port and remove cover
- Turn on ignition (position 2, do not start engine)
- Wait until the head-unit has booted
- Plug coder into OBD-port, message DIAG is shown in the display
- Leave coder for about 30 seconds in OBD-port
- Remove coder from the OBD-port
- A reset is necessary. Press buttons Tr+, Tr-, and * together and hold them until the reset is done.
Installation for Vehicle with MIB Composition Media, MIB MMI
Navigation and MIB Media System Plus:
- Ensure there is a 26-pin connector on the rear of RCD510
- Locate OBD-port and remove cover
- Turn on ignition (position 2, do not start engine)
- Wait until the head-unit has booted
- Plug coder into OBD-port
- Leave coder for about 30 seconds in OBD-port
- Remove coder from the OBD-port
Rear-view Camera Video Connection
- For Vehicles with RNS315/Amundsen, RCD510, and RNS510/Columbus: The video interface RL-MFD3 is additionally required (available separately).
- For Vehicles with MIB Composition Media, MIB MMI Navigation, and MIB Media System Plus: The video cable included in the set is connected to the MIB Quadlock connector.

- Q: Can the OBD-301-R be used in multiple vehicles?
A: No, the OBD-coder can only be used in one vehicle. After use in a vehicle, using it in other vehicles is blocked. - Q: How long are free software updates available for?
A: Free software updates for interfaces are offered for one year after purchase. Customers must send in the interface at their own cost to receive a free update.

- On RCD510 ensure that there is a 26pin connector on the rear
- Locate OBD-port and remove cover
- Turn on ignition (pos. 2, do not start engine)
- Wait until the head-unit has booted
- Plug coder into OBD-port
- Leave coder for about 30 seconds in OBD-port
- Remove coder from the OBD-port
To reverse the coding repeat steps 2.-7.
Vehicle with RNS510/Columbus
- Locate OBD-port and remove cover
- Turn on ignition (pos. 2, do not start engine)
- Wait until the head-unit has booted
- Plug coder into OBD-port, message “DIAG” is shown in the display

Note: After the first use on a vehicle, the coder OBD-301-R is personalized to this vehicle (head-unit) and can be used unlimited times to code or reverse coding on this vehicle.
