Battery-powered functions

Press the “Start” or “Back” button on the locomotive to activate and prepare it for the IR signal from the remote control. The locomotive can now be maneuvered by using either the buttons on the locomotive itself or those on the remote control. The locomotive will switch itself o automatically after five minutes of inactivity.

Note! The engine needs to be driving in the forward direction when driving up an ascending track.

This infra-red controlled toy works best if you follow these instructions:

  1. Infra-red light works best in normal to subdued lighting.
  2. Avoid leaving the toy or its remote control in direct sunlight or flashing light. This can affect the infrared light. If this happens, wait approx. 10 seconds before reactivating the toy.
  3. Both the remote control and the locomotive have channel selectors (A or B). Check that the channel selector on both units has the same setting. Installing batteries:

Locomotive: Requires 2 x 1.5 V AA batteries. Slacken the screw on the battery cover on the back of the locomotive. Install the batteries according to the illustration (+/-). Close the battery cover, and tighten the screw. Push one of the buttons on top of the locomotive to activate it.

Important!

  • An adult should install and change batteries.
  • Never try to recharge batteries that are not rechargeable.

SETUP GUIDE
