Installation

Step 1 — Choose a Location to Install
Choose a location to mount the Athena wireless processor / gateway so that it is centrally located in relationship to the other Clear Connect – Type X devices. Each Clear Connect – Type X device must be within 23 m of a central located wireless processor or Clear Connect gateway. A minimum of two or more Clear Connect – Type X devices must be within 6 m of the processor/gateway and must be mounted 2 m away from wireless interference sources like microwaves, Wireless Access Points (WAPs) etc. Each Clear Connect – Type X device should have two or more non-battery powered Type X devices within 6 m of another compatible Clear Connect – Type X device. Groups or clusters of Clear Connect – Type X devices must not be separated by more than 6 m. PoE wiring must be kept internal to the building. Do not run PoE wiring outdoors or install the gateway in metallic enclosures. Maximum distance from Athena wireless processor to Clear Connect – Type A device is 18 m line of sight or 9 m through walls.
