Product Usage Instructions
Remote Software Upgrade
To perform a Remote Software Upgrade on your MINI:
- Refer to the Owner’s Manual in your MINI or contact your service center for information on your equipment.
- All installed MINI Connected apps and the Integrated Owner’s Manual will be automatically updated.
- If control messages are displayed, restart the vehicle.
- Avoid upgrading during charging to prevent interruptions(applies to BEV models).
- Avoid modifications or retrofits not approved by MINI USA to prevent potential issues during and after the upgrade.
- Check and adjust privacy settings after the upgrade due to changes in functions.
Quick Links Feature Upgrade
The Quick Links feature allows you to customize widgets for quick access to favorite functions:
- Tap a widget to open it.
- Long press a widget to configure its display as per your preferences.
MINI Digital Key Feature Upgrade
The MINI Digital Key feature supports up to 18 digital keys on different devices per vehicle:
- The primary user can define key permissions, from vehicle access to full administrator rights.
- This feature is compatible with the iOS operating system.

Special Note: MINI’s Remote Software Upgrade
- This Remote Software Upgrade brings existing functions up to the latest technical standard. New functions are equipment-dependent; information on your equipment can be found in the Owner’s Manual in your MINI, from your service center, or MINI Connected Customer Relations.
- As part of the upgrade, all installed MINI Connected apps and the Integrated Owner’s Manual are automatically updated to the latest version.
- If control messages (e.g. parking brake, malfunction in the powertrain) are displayed, please restart the vehicle.
- If you perform the upgrade during charging, the charging process may be interrupted and may not continue automatically (only for BEV).
- Modifications/conversions or retrofits/engine tuning or special coding to or in the vehicle thathase not been approved by MINI USA, a division of BMW of North America, LLC (“MINI”) may be lost or lead to significant problems (including subsequent damage) during and after vehicle programming as a result of a MINI Remote Software Upgrade. Neither MINI nor any MINI service operation involved will be liable for any resulting damage.
- Due to changes in the range of functions, the privacy settings may be reset to factory settings following installation. Please check your privacy settings after installing the new software.

Feature Upgrade: Quick Links
QuickSelect widgets streamline the main menu, providing quick access to your favorite functions. Customize the widgets and open them with a single tap. Long-press a widget to configure its display to your preferences.
Feature Upgrade: MINI Digital Key
MINI Digital Key will support up to 18 digital keys on different devices per vehicle. The primary user can define key permissions, ranging from vehicle access without engine start to full administrator rights. This feature will be available and compatible with the iOS operating system.
Feature Upgrade: MINI Charging Screen
Until now, charge levels have only been shown in percentages. From now on, when charging your vehicle, the MINI Interaction Unit also shows the current range down to the mile. Even from the outside, you can see at a glance how far you will be able to drive. This means you can charge whenever you want, just until you have enough range for your next destination.
Feature Upgrade: Curve-Ahead View Now in MINI Connected Plus
MINI Connected Plus now includes Curve-Ahead View, making unfamiliar routes and challenging conditions easier to navigate. Your MINI highlights upcoming bends and suggests the ideal speed using color-coded indicators. This feature is available as a separate add-on. 
Feature Upgrade: MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant
The MINI Intelligent Personal Assistant now features an upgraded, faster, and more responsive new voice that still activates with “Hey, MINI” and offers improved understanding.
Feature Upgrade: Go-Kart Mode
The MINI Interaction Unit now also provides a visualization of how dynamically you are driving. Torque, power, acceleration forces – all displayed in real-time. Values such as boost pressure and engine temperature are also shown.
Quality Improvement: Diagnostic Capability Braking System
Your vehicle receives an enhanced diagnostic capability for the braking system.
Quality Improvement: MINI Operating System 9
The MINI Operating System 9 now runs more smoothly and processes voice input with greater accuracy. Profiles load faster, the operation is more intuitive, and media playback via Bluetooth or streaming is improved. The connection to Apple CarPlay® is also more stable.
