Aeotec Outlet is designed to control devices using the Smart Home Hub over a physical and wireless connection. It is powered by SmartThings Zigbee technology.

Aeotec Outlet must be used with a Smart Home Hub in order to work. The Smart Home Hub user guide can be viewed at that link.

Connect the Aeotec Outlet

Steps in SmartThings Connect.

1. From the Home screen, touch the Plus (+) icon and select Device.
2. Select SmartThings, touch Outlet, and then Outlet (STS-MLT & Others).
3. Touch Start.
4. Choose a Hub for the device.
5. Choose a Room for the device and touch Next.
6. While the Hub searches, move the Outlet within 15 feet of the Hub and plug it in.

Using Aeotec Outlet

SmartThings Outlet is now a part of your Smart Home Hub network. It will appear as a motion widget that can display motion status or temperature sensor readings. 

This section will go over how to display all information in your SmartThings Connect app.

Steps in SmartThings Connect

1. Open SmartThings Connect
2. Scroll down to your Aeotec Outlet
3. Then tap Aeotec Outlet widget.
4. On this screen, it should display:
   • ON/OFF
   • Watt Meter
   • Timer
   • On Time
   • Off Time

Factory reset your Aeotec Outlet

Aeotec Outlet can be factory reset at any time if you come across any issues, or if you need to re-pair Aeotec Outlet to another hub.

Steps in SmartThings Connect.

1. Press and Hold the connect button for five (5) seconds.
2. Release the button when the LED starts blinking blue.
3. The LED will blink blue two times while attempting to connect.
4. Use the SmartThings app and steps detailed in “Connect a SmartThings Outlet” above.
