4. Receiver Overview

Futaba R2104GF 2.4GHz S-FHSS 4-Channel Receiver

Mufananidzo 1: Futaba R2104GF 2.4GHz S-FHSS 4-Channel Receiver. This image displays the top view of the receiver, showing the Futaba branding, model number R2104GF, 2.4GHz S-FHSS system label, and the four channel ports (1-4), a battery port (B), a switch (SW), and an LED indicator. An antenna wire extends from the left side.

The receiver features clearly labeled ports for channels 1 through 4, a dedicated battery port (B), a binding switch (SW), and an LED indicator for status. The antenna is integrated for optimal signal reception.

5. Setup uye Kuiswa

5.1. Installation in Model

  1. Kukwidza: Securely mount the R2104GF receiver in your model using vibration-absorbing material (e.g., foam tape) to protect it from shocks and vibrations. Ensure it is placed away from electric motors, ESCs, and other noise-generating components.
  2. Antenna kuiswa: Position the antenna in a location that provides maximum signal reception and is free from obstruction by metal parts. The antenna should be extended as straight as possible.

5.2. Kubatanidza Zvikamu

  1. Servos: Connect your servos to the corresponding channel ports (1-4) on the receiver. Ensure correct polarity (signal, positive, negative).
  2. Battery/ESC: Connect the battery or Electronic Speed Controller (ESC) to the 'B' (Battery) port. If using an ESC with a built-in BEC (Battery Eliminator Circuit), connect the ESC to channel 2 (throttle) and the BEC will power the receiver. If using a separate receiver battery, connect it to the 'B' port.

5.3. Linking to Transmitter (Binding)

The R2104GF receiver must be linked (bound) to your Futaba 4-PL S-FHSS transmitter before use. Follow these steps:

  1. Turn on your Futaba 4-PL S-FHSS transmitter and ensure it is in S-FHSS mode.
  2. Connect the battery to the receiver. The LED on the receiver will begin to flash.
  3. Press and hold the 'SW' (Switch) button on the receiver for approximately one second. The LED will change from flashing to solid green, indicating successful linking.
  4. Release the 'SW' button.
  5. Turn off the receiver, then turn off the transmitter.
  6. Turn on the transmitter first, then the receiver. The LED on the receiver should immediately illuminate solid green, confirming the link.
  7. Test all control surfaces and functions to ensure proper operation before actual use.

Cherechedza: If the LED does not turn solid green, repeat the linking process. Ensure the transmitter and receiver are within close proximity during the linking procedure.

6. Maitiro Okushandisa

The R2104GF receiver supports two operating modes:

  • Normal Mode: This is the standard operating mode. The frame rate for FHSS/S-FHSS is 13.63ms. This mode is suitable for most applications and standard servos.
  • Yekumusoro-Yekumhanya Mode: This mode offers a faster response time. It is typically used with digital servos that can handle higher frame rates. Refer to your transmitter's manual for instructions on how to select High-Speed mode. Ensure all connected servos are compatible with high-speed operation before activating this mode.

7. Kuchengeta

  • Kuchenesa: Keep the receiver clean and free from dust, dirt, and moisture. Use a soft, dry cloth for cleaning. Avoid using solvents or harsh chemicals.
  • Kuongorora: Regularly inspect all connections (servo, battery) for secure fit and signs of wear or damage. Check the antenna for any kinks or cuts.
  • Kuchengeta: Store the receiver in a dry, cool environment away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use.

8. Kugadzirisa matambudziko

If you encounter issues with your R2104GF receiver, consider the following:

  • Hapana Simba / LED Yakadzima:
    • Check battery connection and ensure the battery is charged.
    • Verify correct polarity of battery connection.
  • No Link/LED Flashing:
    • Ensure the transmitter is powered on and in S-FHSS mode.
    • Repeat the linking procedure (Section 5.3).
    • Confirm the transmitter and receiver are within close range during linking.
    • Tarisa kana paine kukanganiswa kubva kune zvimwe zvishandiso zve2.4GHz.
  • Intermittent Control/Loss of Signal:
    • Check antenna placement; ensure it is not obstructed or damaged.
    • Verify that the receiver is securely mounted and free from excessive vibration.
    • Ensure the transmitter battery is adequately charged.
    • Avoid operating in areas with high 2.4GHz interference.
  • Servos Not Responding:
    • Check servo connections for correct port and polarity.
    • Ensure servos are not mechanically bound or damaged.
    • Verify that the transmitter is sending correct commands.

If problems persist, consult the Futaba 4-PL S-FHSS transmitter manual or contact Futaba customer support.
