Product Usage Instructions

Step 1: Access to the Subscription Manager

  1. The Siemens sales partner configures the software product in the Subscription Manager for the customer.
  2. The customer receives a link to the Subscription Manager via email and registers using a Siemens ID.
  3. The prepared shopping cart is displayed for review.

Step 2: Purchase the subscription

  1. Review and confirm the shopping cart contents and price.
  2. Enter a customer reference number and the email of the user responsible for license management.
  3. Agree to the terms and conditions to complete the purchase.

Step 3: Modifying the subscription
Customers can manage their orders in the Subscriptions section of the Subscription Manager, adding or extending additional features if needed.

Step 4: License creation with the Software Manager

  1. Receive an email with the download link for the purchased software package.
  2. Log in to the Software Manager and assign the subscription to a product instance by entering a serial number.
  3. Download the generated license file and load it into the product to enable the software.

Step 5: Renewal of the subscription

  1. The subscription is automatically renewed before expiration.
  2. Receive an email notification with a new license available for download in the Software Manager.
  3. Load the new license file into the product to continue using the software subscription.

Step-by-step instructions:

Step 1: Access to the Subscription Manager

  1. The Siemens sales partner configures the software product, in this case,e SICAM 8 GridPass, in the Subscription Manager and creates an initial shopping cart for the customer.
  2. The customer receives a link to the Subscription Manager at the stored buyer e-mail address.
  3. The customer follows the link and needs to register in Subscription Manager via the Siemens ID service.
  4. After the customer has registered and logged in, the prepared shopping cart is displayed.

Step 2: Purchase the subscription

  1. The customer can now check the contents and price of the shopping cart
  2. A customer reference number must be entered if the shopping cart meets his requirements.
    Furthermore, the e-mail address of the user who is responsible for license management with the Software Manager must be entered.
    This user registers at software-manager.siemens.com via the Siemens ID service.
  3. By agreeing to the general terms and conditions, the purchase is completed and processed automatically.

Step 3: Modifying the subscription

  1. After the purchase, the customer can view and manage their orders in the “Subscriptions” section of the Subscription Manager. In the case of SICAM 8 GridPass, for example, the add-on “additional clients” can be added or extended.

Step 4: License creation with the Software Manager

  1. After purchasing the subscription, the customer receives an e-mail with the download link for the purchased software package and a reference to the purchased product subscription.
  2. After logging in to the Software Manager, the newly purchased subscription is displayed
  3. The subscription must now be assigned to a product instance. This is done by entering a serial number, which is taken from the installed product instance (e.g., SICAM 8 GridPass)
  4. Downloading the generated license file for the assigned subscription
  5. Loading the license file into the product to enable the software

Step 5: Renewal of the subscription

  1. The subscription is automatically renewed before it expires
  2. The customer receives an e-mail 25 days before the license expires, stating that a new license is available for download in the Software Manager
  3. The license term was extended by one year. Load the license file into the product to continue using the software subscription
