About supported OS
- The supported OS of this software is Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- In Windows 11, Three-finger and four-finger touch gestures have been added. Simultaneous Drawing in this software may be recognized as a touch gesture of Windows 11.
- In Windows 11, you cannot use the “(Pen Software Printer Driver)” (refer to SHARP Pen Software Manual, p. 49). We have made it possible to import PDF files as “Import images” through settings, so to import documents as images in Windows 11, please print using “Microsoft Print to PDF” instead of “Send print data to SHARP Pen Software”, and then open the created PDF in Pen Software.
- When upgrading from Windows 10 to Windows 11, “Send print data to SHARP Pen Software” will remain as a printer. There may be instances where applications crash when attempting to print preview to “Send print data to SHARP Pen Software”. In such cases, please reinstall Pen Software.
About the first startup
If you install this software for the first time, you need to enter the serial number of your SHARP monitor when you first start it. (Not required when updating.)
The serial number can be confirmed on the rear of the monitor.
On some monitors, the serial number can be displayed on the screen in the following steps (depending on the monitor; some monitors cannot display this information. For details, refer to the monitor manual):
- Press the INFORMATION button (or DISPLAY button) on the remote control unit. Confirm “S/N” under “INFORMATION”.
- Touch “Settings” – “Device Information”. Confirm “Serial number”.
About the function to acquire an image from a multifunction machine
- In PN-SU01 upgrade edition, PDF is supported as the scan send format. In PN-SU01 upgrade edition, you can acquire JPEG and PDF images.
- The setting for whether to paste large images after scaling them down can be configured under “Settings” – “Object” – “Scale down large images”.
- Set the method used to acquire images in “Settings” – “Object” – “Import images”.
- The resolution of the PDF can be set under “Settings” – “Sheet” – “DPI when importing images.”
Note: If the “Format when opening PDF files” is set to “Open as a sheet”, the “DPI when importing images” cannot be changed. Please change the “Format when opening PDF files” to “Import images” before adjusting the “DPI when importing images” setting.
- An encrypted PDF file cannot be acquired.
About saving and opening files
- In PN-SU01 upgrade edition, when you save a file to cloud storage service, you can display the QR code of the saved file URL.
- Configure “Display QR code when saving” in “Settings” – “Other” – “Cloud Connect Settings”.

- You can configure whether to display the recent folder history selected in “Open” or “Save”:
- Set “Show recent folders” in “Settings” – “View”.
