Orchestrate Lite
Starting Guide v3.4
This is an abridged setup guide for Orchestrate Lite. For additional details refer to the Orchestrate Lite deployment guide for step-by-step details and examples.
Required ScreenBeam Software and configuration files
- Central Management System (CMSE)
- SB1000G2 Firmware
- Orchestrate (O8) Extension
- Pull from ScreenBeam upgrade server with MDM
- Orchestrate Windows Assistant (for Windows)
- PowerShell script to configure registry (for Windows)
System Requirements
- OS: Windows 10/11 Pro/Edu/Ent (64-bit) or higher or Chrome OS 81.0.4044.103 or later
- CPU (teacher): 10th Gen Intel Core i5 or AMD equivalent/better
- CPU (student): 10th Gen Intel Core i3 or AMD equivalent/better
- Wi-Fi: Intel WiFi6 AX series or better
- MEMORY: Teacher – 8GB (or more), Student – 4GB (or more)
- HDD: 64GB (or more)

Note: CMSE is optional but is recommended if managing multiple ScreenBeam receivers
Deployment Procedure over MDM
Prepare the ScreenBeam receiver
- Update SB1000EDUG2 receiver firmware to 11.2.19.0 or later
- Log into the receiver’s Local Management Page, Features tab and enable Orchestrate Lite
For Windows Devices (Intune or other MDM)
Note: Separate extension installation policies are required for teachers and students
- Register Orchestrate Windows Assistant app with your AAD tenant
- Using your MDM, create policies to install the O8 Windows Assistant app with the appropriate Command-Line arguments for your configuration.
- LITE_MODE
- Options: NO (default), YES (it must be set to YES)
- NO – Orchestrate Lite mode will not be enabled
- YES – Orchestrate Lite mode will be enabled
- Options: NO (default), YES (it must be set to YES)
- EXT_BROWSER
- Target web browser to install the Orchestrate extension
- EDGE – Microsoft Edge
- CHROME – Google Chrome
- Target web browser to install the Orchestrate extension
- ROLE
- Options: TEACHER (default), STUDENT
- TEACHER – The target device will be set to use as a teacher
- STUDENT –The target device will be set to use as a student
- Options: TEACHER (default), STUDENT
For example, the following string would be used to enable Orchestrate Lite mode, set the target devices to be used as Student, install the extension to Microsoft Edge and pin the extension to the toolbar. Note that each option is separated by a space and order does not matter.
3. It is advised to reboot the end user devices after installing the software.
For ChromeOS Devices (Google Workspace)
- Add API client access OAuth scopes in Google Admin for Orchestrate app/extension

Configuring Google Admin
API Client Access
- Log into Google Admin (admin.google.com) with a G Suite account.
- Go to Admin Console > Security > Access and Data control > API Controls > Domain wide delegation >
Manage Domain Wide Delegation. Or click this link.

- Click Add New and the Add a new client ID box will appear.

- Enter a client ID in the Client ID field. The client ID is provided by the application/software developer.

https://www.googleapis.com/auth/classroom.rosters.readonly - Click Authorize. The API client is authorized to access the users’ data.

Managing Users in Google Admin
To add a new user, follow this procedure:
1. Log into Google Admin (admin.google.com) with a G Suite account.
2. Go to Admin Console > Users. Or click this link.
3. Click Add new user and the Add new user box appears. Fill in the required fields and click ADD NEW USER to add a new user.
To manage organizational units, follow this procedure:
1. Log into Google Admin (admin.google.com) with a G Suite account.
2. Go to Admin Console > Users > Manage Organizational Units. Or click this link.
3. Click the yellow + sign to add a new unit or select a unit name and add a subsidiary unit (the +msign), move this unit (the right arrow), edit, or delete the unit.
To change a user to another unit, follow this procedure:
1. Log into Google Admin (admin.google.com) with a G Suite account.
2. Go to Admin Console > Users. Or click this link.
3. Select one or more users, then select More > Change organizational unit.
Managing the Orchestrate Extension and Chrome App
To add extension and app to Google Admin, follow this procedure:
1. Log into Google Admin (admin.google.com) with a G Suite account.
2. Go to Admin Console > Devices > Chrome > Apps & extensions. Or click this link.
3. Select an organizational unit on the left pane.
4. Click the yellow + sign at the bottom right corner and then select the Add Chrome app or Extension by ID option

5. The Add Chrome app or Extension by ID box appears. Enter the ID of the Orchestrate Extension in the Extension ID box, then select From a custom URL and enter the custom URL. Click Save.

6. Add the Policy for the Extension (ID – bdgflbkkgedengcnmmbijghkpdpdlkfb)
This configures the Extension to use the Classroom Commander Server as both the source for rostering information and for class session discovery.
Select the extension and the Extension setup panel appears on the right. Copy and paste the below JSON configuration then click Save on the top right.

7. Force install the extension onto the user devices by selecting Force Install + pin
