The STB-1 and STB-2 thumb button releases deliver precision and comfort with enhanced ergonomics. Offering adjustable travel, tension, and thumb button positioning, these releases provide a fully customizable shooting experience. The open auto-return hook and double sear trigger ensure smooth, consistent performance, while the 3 and 4 finger extensions with adjustable angles allow for a tailored fit. The STB-1 is designed for smaller hands, while the STB-2 is perfect for those who prefer a larger grip. Both models feature a convenient lanyard hole for easy carrying and come in a sleek new color.
TRAVEL ADJUSTMENT
To adjust trigger travel, turn the #2-56 socket head screw (1:A) on the side of the release using a 5/64” hex tool. To increase travel, turn the screw counterclockwise in 1/4 turn increments. Test after each adjustment. To decrease travel, turn the screw clockwise in 1/4 turn increments. Test after each adjustment. Note that adjusting too far in the clockwise direction will render the release in-operable.
TENSION ADJUSTMENT
To adjust trigger tension, turn the #10-32 set screw (1:B) on the side of the release using a 3/32” hex tool. To increase tension, turn the screw clockwise in 1/4 turn increments. Test the trigger feel after each adjustment. To decrease tension, turn the screw counterclockwise in 1/4 turn increments. Test trigger feel after each adjustment. Do not remove or bottom out the screw.
Removing the screw will cause the spring to fall out and bottoming the screw out will cause the spring to bind up and hinder function of the release.
ADJUSTING FINGER EXTENSIONS
To adjust the sweep angle of the finger extension, loosen the #2-56 socket head screw (2:A) on the top of the release. Move the finger extension to the desired position and tighten the screw back down.
REPLACING FINGER EXTENSIONS
To replace finger extensions, remove the #2-56 socket head screw (2:A) on top of the release using a 5/64” hex tool, being careful not to lose the washer that is in the channel of the finger extension. Next, remove the #2-56 button head screw (2:B) on top of the release using a .050” hex tool. Finally, press the dowel pin (2:C) out from the back side of the release (opposite of the button head that was just removed) using the .050” hex tool.
To reassemble, place the desired finger extension in the body of the release and insert the dowel pin back in place. Next, reinstall the #2-56 button head screw. Finally, place the washer in the channel on the finger extension and feed the #2-56 socket head through the washer before snugging it down in the desired position.
