Wearing the earphones
Before inserting the earphones, turn down the volume on your audio device. Each earphone is marked with an L or R on the inside of the earphone. Take note of the correct
side before inserting it into your ear. If using the Comply™ foam tips, compress the foam before inserting it into your ear. With the cable towards the front of your ear, insert the earphone into your ear canal.
Wearing the earphones
For optimal bass performance, the ear tip should form a tight seal in the ear canal. If you feel the bass response is low, gently press the earphone into the ear or try a different-sized ear tip.
The cable for the Zi Earphones can be worn either in front of your body or along your back. For live or active performers it is recommended to wear the earphones behind your head, along your back
Removing the Earphones
- To remove the Zi earphones, firmly grip the earphones and twist forward while pulling the earphone out of your ear.
- Do not use the cable to remove the earphones from your ears. This may damage the cable and result in poor performance.
Attaching the ear tip
- The Zi Earphones come with 3 silicon ear tips (small, medium, and large) and 2 Comply™ Isolation T-100 Premium Earphone Tips (small, medium).
- Select the appropriate sized silicon or Comply™ for tips.
- Carefully slide one ear tip onto each ear bud ensuring the ear tip is securely seated on the earphone (fig 1).
- If using the Comply™ Isolation T-100 Premium Earphone Tips, it is recommended to compress the tips before attaching to the earphone.
- If you feel some resistance, rotate the ear tip as you install it.
- To remove the ear tip, rotate a pull the tip from the earphone (fig 2).
Frequently Asked Questions
An earphone is essentially just a loop of wire with current flowing through it. The permanent magnet in the loop interacts with the electric current in the loop to push the air, creating sound.
Check to see if restarting your smartphone might resolve the issue preventing your Android’s headphone jack from functioning. Hold down the power button while tapping Restart. Try your headphones once more after your phone has restarted.
Ensure that your audio card’s drivers are correctly installed. Additionally, and I know this sounds silly, make sure that your headphones, not the mic or anything else, are correctly inserted into the headphone socket. Check the bios to make sure that your audio card is correctly initialized if that doesn’t solve the problem.
Repairs for headphones are offered by several audio and electronics stores. If you are unable to find a local repair shop, you might consider sending your headphones to the maker or another repair facility for a fix. Your headphones can also be covered by a warranty, depending on the issue.
Typically, the sum is insignificant. High-end headphones with a stronger bass setting will somewhat deplete the battery faster. Similarly, tethered earphones and headphones use less power than wireless versions.
You’ll need an army knife, a lighter, and heat-shrinking tubing to patch and repair headphone wires and cables. You must strip the cable, remove the wire covering, reattach the wires, and apply heat-shrinking tape or electric tape to finish the repair.
Except for active noise-canceling headphones, wired headphones don’t require batteries or charging. You’re ready to rock out after just connecting your headphones or earphones to your music source.
The standard charging port for iPads and Android smartphones is now USB-C. Wired headphones can also be connected to the USB-C connector. All you require is a basic, inexpensive adaptor. There are several types from which you can select.
