RTX 8930 Wireless Dect Headset
OVERVIEW
This manual explains how to operate the RTX SME VoIP DECT Headset (RTX8930) in generic mode, including power on/off, registration, basic call handling, volume control, and microphone muting.

- Volume control: Six volume steps (beeps indicate adjustments and limits)
- LED behavior (power/registration status): Blue LED blinks fast during initial signal detection/registration mode; after subscription it blinks with a 2-second interval
- Power-off key combination: Long-press AUX + VOL+ + VOL- for five seconds
Quick Setup & Use
- Switch on: Press the AUX key. Wait for the blue LED to blink fast until a signal is detected; once subscribed, the voice prompt “Headset subscribed” plays and the blue LED changes to a 2-second interval.
- Initial registration: For first-time setup, switch the headset on; it enters registration mode automatically (blue LED blinking fast).
- Subsequent (re-)registration: Press and hold HOOK OFF together with VOL+ and VOL- until the blue LED starts blinking fast. (Note: the blue LED will not enter registration mode if the unit is cradled and charging.)
- Answer a call: Press HOOK OFF.
- End a call: Press HOOK OFF again.
- Adjust volume during a call: Press VOL+ to increase and VOL- to decrease.

Basic Operation
This section describes how to switch on and off the RTX8930 headset and how to register the unit on an RTX 8660 SME VoIP system.
How to Switch the Headset On/Off:
Switching off the headsetTo switch the headset off, long-press the AUX key together with the VOL+ and VOL- keys (press and hold the three keys for five seconds). The blue LED will give a short blink before switching off.
Registration Initial Registration
Subsequent RegistrationsIf the RTX8930 headset has already been registered on the same or another base system and needs to be re-registered, the required action is to press and hold the HOOK OFF key together with the VOL+ and VOL- keys until the blue LED starts blinking fast.
NOTE: The blue LED will not start blinking in registration mode if the unit is cradled and charging. Please check the additional document via [2] for more information about terminal registration on a base system.
Calls Operations
- Incoming Call As the headset receives an incoming call, a ringtone will be played back
- Answering an Incoming Call To answer an incoming call, press the HOOK OFF key
- Reject an Incoming Call It is not currently possible to reject an incoming call
- Ending a Call To end an ongoing call, press the HOOK OFF key
- Volume and Muting It is possible to adjust the earpiece volume up or down during calls by pressing the VOL+ and VOL- keys, respectively. There are six volume steps. A beep is played back to indicate that the volume is adjusted. A higher frequency beep is played back when the volume cannot be adjusted further up or down.
- Muting the Microphone It is possible to mute the microphone during calls by pressing the MUTE key. The microphone is unmuted by pressing the MUTE key again. A voice prompt announcing “Mute on” is played back when mute is activated. A voice prompt announcing “Mute off” is played back when mute is deactivated.
Troubleshooting
- Headset doesn’t enter registration mode when re-registering: If you are cradled and charging, the blue LED will not start blinking fast in registration mode. Remove it from the cradle/charging and try again.
- No confirmation after switching on: After pressing AUX, the blue LED should blink fast until a signal is detected. Once the headset locks onto a base, the voice prompt “Headset subscribed” should play and the LED should switch to blinking with a 2-second interval.
- Volume can’t be increased/decreased: The headset provides higher frequency beeps when the volume cannot be adjusted further up or down.
