OVERVIEW
IMPORTANT SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
Read and understand all instructions before proceeding. Failure to follow all instructions may result in electric shock, fire, property damage, and/ or serious personal injury. Please refer to the Rooster® Tracking System User Guide for detailed instructions on setting up, installing and using Rooster devices.
- Save these instructions. This Quick Start Guide and the Comprehensive User Guide contain important safety and operating instructions.
- Rooster® Hubs are designed to be powered by 12VDC or 24VDC power supply, optional auxiliary solar panel, or accessory AC Adapter (110 volts).

- Rooster® Hubs contain no user serviceable parts or components. (What else?)
- Properly dispose of inoperable Activity Trackers. Activity Trackers and Rooster® Hubs contain batteries. Do not burn or incinerate Rooster® Hubs or Activity Trackers. Please deposit used or unwanted Activity Tracker and Rooster® Hubs with an environmentally compatible recycling facility.
- Do not dispose of Rooster® devices with household waste material.

ROOSTER® APP ACCOUNT SET-UP
Begin by downloading the Rooster® App to set up your Rooster® Account. The Rooster App is available as a free download from the Apple App Store, or from Google Play Store.
- Download the Rooster® App and follow the on-screen directions set up a Rooster® account, or setup your account online at Rooster.com.
- Check for a confirmation email from Rooster®, and follow the instructions.
You will need a credit card to establish and maintain your subscription-based account.
SYSTEM INSTALLATION
- Install at least one Rooster® Hub on a piece of powered equipment or a vehicle, connecting it to a power supply: 6, 9, or 14 pin ODB; flying lead to power supply (RED), ground (BLACK) and optional ignition (BLUE). Or, install at least one Rooster® Hub on a building or structure using the optional AC adapter or optional solar panel. Rooster® Hubs may be mounted using zip ties, wood screws, machine screws, or bolts no larger than ¼”-20. The Rooster® Hub will begin blinking as it initializes.
- Follow the instructions on the Rooster® App for Hub activation and assignment.
- Attach at least one Activity Tracker to an Asset you wish to track. Activity Trackers may be attached with high bond adhesive tape, a high strength magnet, a flexible lanyard, or a protective deflector.
- Follow the instructions on the Rooster® App to Name and assign the Activity Trackers to the Assets you wish to track.
- Track your assets using the Rooster® App!

GENERAL USE AND CARE
- Rooster® Hubs require unobstructed access to wireless cellular networks and GPS signals. Optimal Hub installation requires positioning “logo” side of hub with clear view of sky.
- Activity Trackers will enter a Sleep mode after a period of non-use. Movement or activity of an Asset equipped with a Rooster® Activity Tracker will awaken the Tracker, causing it to transmit Asset data to a Rooster® Hub within range.
- If you experience a flashing LED on a Rooster® Hub, first call Rooster® Tech Support at 1-844-4ROOSTR (1-844-476-6787).
- Use of the Rooster® Tracking System will not prevent theft of an Asset
- Use of the Rooster® Tracking System may not result in the recovery of lost or stolen Assets
- Keep Rooster® Activity Tracker and Hub units clean and sealed. Do not attempt to open the cases of Trackers or Hubs, or alter or repair any interior components
- Do not submerge Activity Trackers or Rooster® Hubs
- DO NOT attach the Rooster® Hub on or near the following:
- exhaust vents
- warning labels
- handrails/holds
- areas exposed to sparks or high heat
- any other area that may jeopardize personal safety, safe operation of machine or tool, or cause harm to the device
- moving parts
- guards
- switches or controls
- submerged areas
