ROCKBOARD V2 Natural Sound Buffer
Product Introduction
The RockBoard® Natural Sound Buffer V2 preserves the natural sound of a guitar or bass in conjunction with effect pedals, and prevents from signal loss. Musicians who use elaborate effects pedal setups especially know this problem: long cable runs and effects chains cause an unintended change of their guitar tone. Loss of high frequencies make the sound dull and change its characteristics in an undesirable way.
We have the solution: The RockBoard® Natural Sound Buffer V2!
It features an op-amp-based buffer circuit that takes the high-impedance output signal, converts it to a low-impedance signal, and gives it an inaudible amount of additional gain.
The RockBoard® Natural Sound Buffer V2 will be traditionally inserted between the instrument and the first stomp box in the chain. In this way, it will feed the rest of the signal chain the natural sound of your tone, without distortion and without additional noise and will help you drive long cable runs without any frequency loss. Simply connect a stabilized 9V DC power adapter – 2.1 x 5.5 mm barrel plug, negative center polarity – (not included) like the RockBoard® Power Ace to the power supply input, plug your instrument into the input jack of the RockBoard® Natural Sound Buffer, and the output jack to the first stomp box in the effect chain.
However, with certain effects pedals that require high impedance input signals, like many fuzzes, there can be undesired effects like distortion or feedback if they are placed after the Natural Sound Buffer V2 in the signal chain. Should you experience any unwanted effects in when using effects pedals in conjunction with the RockBoard® Natural Sound Buffer V2, experiment with the placement of the RockBoard® in your signal chain to utilize its full potential.
Product Usage Instructions
Installation
- Ensure that the device is powered off and unplugged.
- Connect the high-impedance output signal to the input of the Natural Sound Buffer V2.
- Connect the output of the buffer to the desired audio equipment.
- Power on the device and adjust settings as needed.
Operation
Once the device is correctly installed, it will automatically convert the high-impedance signal to a low-impedance signal with additional gain. Adjust the gain control if necessary to achieve the desired output level.
Maintenance
Regularly check for any loose connections or damage to the device. Clean the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using any harsh chemicals or solvents.
Storage
Store the Natural Sound Buffer V2 in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and moisture. Use the original packaging or a protective case to prevent damage during storage.
Troubleshooting
If you encounter any issues with the device, refer to the troubleshooting section of the user manual or contact customer support for assistance.
FAQs
- Q: Can I use the Natural Sound Buffer V2 with both instruments and audio equipment?
A: Yes, the buffer can be used with a variety of high-impedance sources such as instruments and audio equipment. - Q: How do I know if the buffer is functioning correctly?
A: You can test the buffer by connecting it between your source and destination devices and monitoring the output signal. If the signal is converted to low impedance with additional gain, the buffer is functioning correctly.
