Battery User Guide

1. Replacing the Battery and First Charge

Disconnect the robotic assistant from the power source and remove the old battery. Then insert the new battery. After replacing the battery, charge the robot until it is fully charged. Charge the battery at a temperature of 045 °C to achieve optimal charging performance.

Ni-MH Batteries: To achieve full capacity, the battery requires 35 charging and discharging cycles. Since every Ni-MH battery has a so-called memory effect, we recommend performing a charging and discharging cycle at least once every 2 months. This will significantly extend the battery’s lifespan. A gradual decrease in capacity over time is a normal characteristic of these batteries.

Li-Ion Batteries: There is no need to format the battery (no memory effect).
WARNING: Only connect the battery when the device is turned off and disconnected from all power sources (external power source or charging base). Otherwise, the battery may be damaged or improperly charged.

2. Storing the Battery

Store the battery at a temperature of up to 25 °C. If you will not use the robotic assistant for a long time, fully charge the battery and then remove it from the robot. Keep it in a cool, dry, and clean place. The battery should be recharged regularly, every 23 months.

3. Avoid Battery Short Circuits

A short circuit will create a very high current, causing the battery to heat up and potentially release electrolyte, toxic gases, or even explode.

4. Do Not Disassemble the Battery

Disassembling the battery may cause short circuits, fires, explosions, the release of toxic gases, or electrolyte leakage. If electrolyte comes into contact with your eyes, seek medical attention immediately. Disassembling the battery may also damage its components.

5. Do Not Use a Damaged Battery

The battery may be damaged during transportation. Do not use a battery with damaged packaging, a deformed casing, leaked electrolyte, or a chemical odor. If the battery is leaking or smells, keep it as far away as possible from fire to prevent fires or explosions.

6. Do Not Submerge the Battery or Use It in High Humidity

Do not immerse the battery in liquids such as water, oil, drinks, coffee, etc. This could cause a short circuit or other issues.
Possible Battery Issues and Solutions

  1. The battery starts charging, but the charging indicator does not blink:
o Check if the battery is loose or has bad contact in the device.
o Remove the battery and clean the battery contacts.
  2. If the charging indicator shows the battery is full after a short time, the battery is already fully charged.
  3. If the charging indicator does not light up and does not indicate full charging:
o Check the proper connection of the battery. Incorrect charging may lead to this issue.
o If the full-charge indicator does not light up for an extended period (more than 5 hours), disconnect the power
connector and reconnect it. The battery will then charge again, and the charging indicator will light up fully after approximately 4 hours.
o This issue may be resolved after 45 proper uses.
