Installation or Setup
  • Identify input terminals (IN+ and IN-) and output terminals (OUT+ and OUT-).
  • Solder power source wires to the input terminals with correct polarity.
  • Connect output terminals to the load or multimeter for adjustment.
  • For currents over 2A, attach an external aluminum heat sink to the LM2596 IC.

How to Use

  1. Connect input terminals to a stable DC power source (4.5V to 40V).
  2. Ensure input voltage is at least 1.5V higher than the desired output.
  3. Power on the input source.
  4. Measure output voltage with a digital multimeter at OUT+ and OUT-.
  5. Adjust output voltage using the blue multi-turn potentiometer:
    • Turn clockwise to increase voltage.
    • Turn counterclockwise to decrease voltage.
  6. Turn off the power, disconnect the multimeter, and connect your device.
  7. Power on to operate your system.
Maintenance and Cleaning
  • Keep the module clean and dust-free to prevent overheating.
  • Use a soft anti-static brush or compressed air for cleaning.
  • Store in an anti-static bag when not in use.
  • Avoid moisture exposure to prevent damage.
Safety Tips
  • Never reverse input polarity (no reverse polarity protection).
  • Keep input voltage below 40V DC.
  • Avoid operating at 3A max current without proper cooling.
  • Keep away from flammable materials during high-load use.

Troubleshooting

Problem Possible Cause Solution
Output voltage equals input voltage Potentiometer not engaged Turn the potentiometer counterclockwise 15-20 turns
The module becomes excessively hot High current or large voltage differential Reduce load, add a heat sink or active cooling
No voltage output Wrong input connections or low input voltage Verify wiring and input voltage above 4.5V
Output voltage fluctuates Unstable or insufficient input voltage Stabilize input voltage, ensure ≥1.5V above output
