Overview

The 1280 OnTrak unattended kiosk iRite program is supported by the OnTrak® Enterprise Truck Scale Data Management Software and communicates with the OnTrak Enterprise PC program for all required information.

WARNING

  • Do not use for purposes other than weight measurement.
  • Do not place fingers into slots or possible pinch points.
  • Do not use any load-bearing component that is worn beyond 5% of the original dimension. Do not use this product if any of the components are cracked.
  • Do not make alterations or modifications to the unit.
  • Do not exceed the rated load limit of the unit.
  • Do not remove or obscure warning labels.
  • Keep hands, feet and loose clothing away from moving parts.
  • Do not operate without all shields and guards in place.
  • Follow all traffic laws while driving.
  • Do not impede vehicle traffic.
  • Drive cautiously while being aware of surroundings and people.

NOTE: All translations are configurable in the Language database. After downloading a user program the Language database must be imported using Revolution® Scale Software. If the system displays Language DB Error in the lower left corner, the language database was not imported successfully.

NOTE: Shipping and Receiving text is configurable in Setup.

Truck Processing

The following instructions detail truck processing with a 1280 Enterprise™ Series Programmable Weight Indicator and Controller in an unattended kiosk running OnTrak Enterprise software.

  1. Drive truck to the scale and OnTrak performs one of the following based on the Loop Detector setting:
    • A. Loop detectors are disabled and scale is empty with a zero value and a green traffic light displayed on the 1280.
      1. Enter Scale displays.
      2. Weight displays on the Remote Display.
      3. Proceed to Step 2.
    • B.Loop detectors are enabled or inverted and scale is empty with a zero value and a red traffic light displayed on the 1280:
      1. Waiting on Loop Detector displays.
      2. Drive truck to loop detector.
      3. Loop detector activates and the system attempts to zero the scale. If successful or at zero, the system displays Enter Scale and a green traffic light.
      4. Loop Entry Delay begins.
  2. RICE-LAKE-1280-Kiosk-OnTrak-Enterprise-Programmable-Weight-Indicator-and-Controller- (5)Drive the truck onto the scale and exceed the configurable Threshold weight.
    NOTE: If Loop Detectors are enabled and the Threshold weight is not exceeded before the Loop Entry Delay expires, return to Step 1.
  3. (Optional) Select the language button to cycle through available languages.
    NOTE: All translations are configurable in the Language database. After downloading a user program the Language database must be imported using Revolution. If the system displays Language DB Error in the lower left corner, the language database was not imported successfully.

  4. If Dash Remote is enabled in the setup menu, the Remote Display clears weight data and one of the following occurs:
    • Dashes display on LaserLight2™
    • NODATA displays on LaserLight3™
      NOTE: An indication of when the threshold is exceeded is configurable. Displaying Dashes or NODATA is enabled by default. For more information see Section 3.2 on page 14.
  5. The 1280 validates the Scale Name:
    • A. Proceed to Step 6 if the scale message does not display Please Configure a Scale Name – Exit Scale.
    • B. Perform the following if the scale message displays Please Configure a Scale Name – Exit Scale:
      1. The driver must exit the scale and the attendant must access the 1280 Setup Menu and configure a Scale Name.
      2. The attendant selects Scale Name, the 1280 displays a list of Scale Names.
      3. The attendant selects the required Scale Name and the 1280 is ready to process trucks.
      4. The Scale Name is displayed in the upper left hand corner.
  6. If Port 1 Peripheral is set as TransCore in the Setup Menu, enable TransCore output activates and the traffic light turns red while the 1280 displays Scan RFID or Enter Truck ID. Perform one of the following:
    • A. The RFID (radio frequency identification) was scanned as the truck entered the scale.
    • B. Scan the RFID.
    • C. Select Enter Truck ID.
      1. Enter the Truck ID followed by DONE. RICE-LAKE-1280-Kiosk-OnTrak-Enterprise-Programmable-Weight-Indicator-and-Controller- (7)
  7. The 1280 validates the gross weight against the minimum and maximum weights (configured in OnTrak Enterprise).
    • A. If the gross weight is less than (<) the configured Minimum Truck Weight, the system displays Truck Underweight:
      • Select Accept and proceed to Step 8.
      • Select Cancel. Exit Scale and a green traffic light displays. Remove weight and return to Step 1.
    • B. If the gross weight is greater than or equal to (>) the Maximum Truck Weight, the system displays Truck Overweight:
      • Select Accept to proceed to Step 8.
      • Select Cancel. Exit Scale and a green traffic light displays. Remove weight and return to Step 1. RICE-LAKE-1280-Kiosk-OnTrak-Enterprise-Programmable-Weight-Indicator-and-Controller- (8)
  8. Depending on tare type the 1280 performs one the following:
    • A. If Keyed Tare Weight or Stored Tare Weight is greater than (>) 0, proceed to Step 9 (Outbound Transaction).
    • B. If Keyed Tare Weight or Stored Tare Weight is 0, Invalid Truck Tare and a green traffic light displays. Remove weight and return to Step 1.
    • C. Weighs the truck:
      • The 1280 sends truck inbound data to OnTrak Enterprise. Proceed to Step 10.
      • Inbound data not found, proceed to Step 9 (Inbound Transaction).
  9. The 1280 displays Shipping and Receiving buttons. The driver selects Shipping (proceed to Step 10 for customer transactions) or Receiving (proceed to Step 11 for vendor transactions) and the 1280 sends the information to OnTrak Enterprise.
    NOTE: If Dash Remote display is enabled in Setup, the remote display will display weight. To skip the “Select Shipping or Receiving” prompt, set the default Transaction Mode to Shipping or Receiving. RICE-LAKE-1280-Kiosk-OnTrak-Enterprise-Programmable-Weight-Indicator-and-Controller- (9)NOTE: Shipping and Receiving text is configurable in the Setup and can be configured for customer or vendor transactions. Job, Customer/Vendor and Product selections may not appear in sequential order and are based on Truck Configuration and Inbound Transactions in OnTrak Enterprise. Some options may be skipped based on the Auto Skip feature in Setup. Skip to Step 11 for vendor transactions.
  10. The 1280 displays the Job screen with three options:
    • A. Select Default/Inbound Job, select to proceed with Default/Inbound Job option.
      NOTE: Jobs set as default populate this field even if the job is CLOSED in OnTrak.
    • B. Request Job List, select to view all Jobs from OnTrak Enterprise then select one.

  11. The 1280 displays the Customer or Vendor screen with three options:
    NOTE: This step is skipped if a job was selected in Step 10. Instead, the customer associated with that job is used.
    • A. Select Default/Inbound Customer/Vendor, select to proceed with Default/Inbound Customer/Vendor option.
    • B. Request Customer/Vendor List, select to view all Customer/Vendors from OnTrak Enterprise then select one.
    • C. Continue with No Customer/Vendor, select to advance without a customer/vendor.
  12. The 1280 displays the Product screen with three options:
    • A. Select default/Inbound Product, select to proceed with Default/Inbound Product option.
    • B. Request Product List, select to view all Products from OnTrak Enterprise then select one.
      NOTE: This option requests all products in OnTrak if no job was selected in prior steps. Otherwise, the product list only displays products associated with the selected job.
    • C. Continue with No Product, select to advance without a product.
  13. (Optional) Custom user prompts (1 – 3) configured in OnTrak Enterprise display, if required enter data and select DONE button in each prompt.
    NOTE: User Fields only appear if enabled in OnTrak Enterprise. See OnTrak Enterprise Technical Manual (PN 216813) for more information.
  14. The system displays all configured information and displays: “Is Everything Correct?”. Select Accept to proceed (Step 15) or Cancel to restart the procedure (Step 6).RICE-LAKE-1280-Kiosk-OnTrak-Enterprise-Programmable-Weight-Indicator-and-Controller- (11)NOTE: The above screen only displays if Review Screen is enabled in Setup (see Section 3.2 on page 14).
  15. The system captures data, calculates weights, stores the transaction in the OnTrak Enterprise database and then prints the ticket.
    NOTE: The ticket footer and header can be edited from the kiosk (Auxfmt1 and Auxfmt2).
  16. (Optional) Press the Ticket Reprint button to reprint the ticket. The Ticket Reprint button remains on screen until the weight drops below the set Threshold in the Setup menu.RICE-LAKE-1280-Kiosk-OnTrak-Enterprise-Programmable-Weight-Indicator-and-Controller- (12)NOTE: If connection between the kiosk and the Custom America printer is lost, the 1280 displays No Communication. If the printer reports an error, the 1280 may display No Communication, Out of Paper, Online, or Low Paper. These errors do not prevent completing a transaction. However, if the printer is off-line or out of paper, the driver must request a reprinted ticket from the attendant.
  17. The 1280 displays Weighment Complete – Exit scale.RICE-LAKE-1280-Kiosk-OnTrak-Enterprise-Programmable-Weight-Indicator-and-Controller- (13)
  18. 1280 does one of the following based on the Loop Detector setting once the scale weight drops below Threshold.
    • A. If loop detectors are disabled, wait until traffic light turns green then exit the scale and return to Step 1.
    • B. If loop detectors are inverted or normal, Exit Loop Delay displays until the timer expires. Turns traffic light red. Return to Step 1.

Setup Information

Serial Communications – Tickets, PC
This application does not utilize tickets or reports. All ticket formats and report printing is handled by the OnTrak Enterprise PC excluding the Footer and Header when printing at the Kiosk.

  1. Header (AuxFmt1)
    The message will be transmitted by default on port 2. The format can be modified through the 1280 front panel or with the Revolution scale software. This format includes special control characters before printing. For example, double high, double wide, font, etc.
  2. Footer (AuxFmt2)
    The message will be transmitted by default on port 2. The format can be modified through the 1280 front panel or with the Revolution scale software. This format includes special control characters after printing. For example, cut, release, etc.
  3. Rice Lake Stop/Go Green Light (AuxFmt19)
    The message will be transmitted by default on port 7. The format can be modified through the 1280 front panel or with the Revolution scale software.
  4. Rice Lake Stop/Go Red Light (AuxFmt20)
    The message will be transmitted by default on port 7. The format can be modified through the 1280 front panel or with the Revolution scale software.

 Application Configuration
The Setup touch widget is password-protected and offers access to the following:

  • Display Program Name and Version
  • Display weight widget
  • Streams Remote Display Command format (|<AA><CC>|<Data>! or CONDEC) out port 7 (Remote Display) for calibration and troubleshooting.

Allows the operator to Enable or Disable printer monitoring.
  • When the connection between the Kiosk and Printer is lost, the 1280 displays the message No Communication.
  • If the printer reports an error, the 1280 may display Offline or Out of Paper.
  • Other messages may include Online or Low Paper.

 NOTE: These errors do not prevent a transaction from being completed. However, if the printer is offline or out of paper it is the driver’s responsibility to see the attendant to receive or reprint a ticket.

NOTE: Both remote displays use Auxfmt19 and Auxfmt20 for Traffic Lights.

Loop Detectors

Loop Detectors

Allows the operator to configure loop detector as Inverted, Normal or Disabled. Loop Detectors are only used for zeroing the scale upon entry.
Loop Entry Delay 15.0 sec Loop Entry Delay Allows the operator to modify the duration the truck must exceed threshold before restarting the sequence.
Loop Exit Delay 10.0 sec Loop Exit Delay Allows the operator to modify the duration loop detectors are ignored when dropping below the Threshold.
