    Question

Why is my Rexing Intelligent Hardwire Kit powering off and restarting my camera while I am driving?

    Answer

If your Rexing Intelligent Hardwire Kit is causing your camera to restart while driving, please check the following troubleshooting steps based on the installation requirements:

    • Check Wiring Connections: Ensure the RED cable is connected to a switched fuse (power only when the car is on) and the YELLOW cable is connected to a hot fuse (power at all times). If these are swapped or loose, the power delivery may be unstable.
    • Verify Grounding: Ensure the BLACK ground cable is securely attached to a metal bolt near the fuse box. A poor ground connection is a common cause of intermittent power loss.
    • Disable Internal Parking Monitor: The manual explicitly states that you must NOT enable the parking monitor function in the dash cam's internal settings once this kit is connected. The hardwire kit's motion sensor overrides this feature; having both active may cause software conflicts and restarts.
    • Check Motion Sensor Placement: Ensure the motion sensor is not blocked by objects like the rear-view mirror, as this can affect the kit's power management logic.

If the issue persists, you can contact Rexing support at care@rexingusa.com or call (877) 740-8004 for further assistance.
