Safety instructions
Important: Please read and follow the instructions carefully before commissioning or installing this device. Please also follow the instructions in the manual.
For your own safety and to prevent unnecessary damage to your device, please read and observe the following safety instructions. Please keep the safety instructions in a safe place.
Safety instructions
- Select an installation site where liquids or objects cannot get into the device under any circumstances (condensation, water etc.) and do not place any containers filled with liquids (e.g. vases) on the device, as there is a risk of electric shock (danger to life) and fire.
- If you have brought the device from the cold into a warm environment, leave it switched off for approx. two hours due to the possible formation of condensation.
- Do not install the product near heat sources such as radiators, heat registers, stoves or other devices (including amplifiers) that produce heat.
- To avoid electric shock, connect the device’s power cord to properly grounded outlets. If the device is supplied with a three-pole mains cable, do not use adapter plugs that bypass the earthing function or remove the earthing function from the plug or adapter.
- The mains plug of this device serves as a disconnecting device and must remain freely accessible.
- Disconnect the device from the mains if there is a thunderstorm or if you do not expect to use it for a long period of time.
- Do not place any sources of fire on the device, e.g. burning candles etc. (fire hazard)
- The ventilation openings of the device must not be covered.
- Long hair, necklaces, ties etc. can get caught in the reels or the reel motor and cause serious injury. Avoid objects hanging down near the device.
- Do not push any objects into the ventilation slots or openings of your device. This can lead to a fire or electric shock, as internal components may short-circuit.
- Do not use a damaged product. If the product does not work properly in any way, please contact your Revox specialist partner or us as the manufacturer at support@revox.de.
- Do not attempt to service / repair the device yourself, disassembly can cause damage to the product or injure the user. If you have problems with your Revox product, please contact your Revox specialist partner or us as the manufacturer at support@revox.de.
- Revox products contain components that generate electromagnetic fields. These fields in Revox products can cause interference with certain medical devices, including but not limited to pacemakers and defibrillators. Please keep a safe distance between your medical device and this Revox product.
- Only use the accessories / extensions specified by the manufacturer.
Security measures
| Installation location | Avoid installation locations with: direct sunlight / directly next to heat sources / poor ventilation / dusty atmosphere / unstable location – high humidity. High dust concentrations and moisture leads to leakage currents in the device, which can result in a risk of contact with voltages or fire. |
| Protection | Protect your device from: Moisture, dripping and splashing water, steam / shocks and mechanical loads / magnetic and electrical fields / cold, heat, direct sunlight and strong winds. Also temperature fluctuations, dust, tampering with the interior of the device. |
| Cables | Secure the mains cable against being crushed or kinked, especially on the device itself and its mains plug. Make sure that the other connection cables are not located in places where someone could step on them or trip over them. |
| Supervision | Do not allow children to handle the device unsupervised and do not allow them to play in the immediate vicinity of the device. Do not operate your Revox device unsupervised. |
| Loudness | Loud music can cause hearing damage. Avoid extreme volumes, especially over longer periods of time. |
| Cleaning | Disconnect your device from the socket before cleaning it. Only clean your device with a slightly damp, soft and clean cloth (without any harsh cleaning agents). |
| Packaging | Keep the original packaging. This not only helps you to be prepared for any returns or repairs, but also to avoid damage during transportation and storage. |
The symbol with the exclamation mark indicates points that require special attention.
The lightning symbol warns of unprotected, live components or components inside the housing or of dangerous connection points. Touching these components or connection points can be life-threatening. Cables that are connected to such connection points may only be connected by a specialist or ready-to-connect cables must be used. There are no user-serviceable parts inside the device. Therefore, never open the device.
CE Revox hereby declares that this product has been tested and that all EU-wide requirements for safety, health protection and environmental protection have been met. All certificates can be obtained from the manufacturer on request.
WEEE Information The WEEE (Waste of Electrical and Electronic Equipment) Directive aims to prevent waste from electrical and electronic equipment and to reduce such waste through reuse, recycling and other forms of recovery. The WEEE logo on the product or packaging indicates that this electrical or electronic equipment is being collected, it consists of the crossed-out wheeled garbage can as shown below.
This product must not be disposed of with residual waste. You are responsible for taking your electrical or electronic equipment to a separate collection or recycling point. For more information on the disposal, recycling and collection points of waste electrical and electronic equipment, please contact your local authorities, the specialist disposal company where you purchased the device or the manufacturer of the device.

Revox limited warranty
Revox Deutschland GmbH grants a guarantee for your product in the event of material and manufacturing defects when purchased directly from Revox or an authorized Revox specialist partner. This warranty applies only to the original pur chaser or a person who received the product as a gift and not to any other person or purchaser. This warranty is valid for a period of 2 years from the date of retail purchase. This warranty does not cover defects due to the following causes: improper or unreasonable use or maintenance/ failure to follow the operating instructions/accident/ excessive moisture/insects/lightning strikes/power surges/connection to
an incorrect power supply/ unauthorized modification or alteration of the original condition/damage caused by inadequate packaging or shipping/loss of/ damage to stored data/ damage, caused by the use of non-Revox products/products that must be modified or adapted to operate in a country other than the country for which it was designed, manufactured, approved and/or certified and products purchased from unauthorized dealers.
In the event of a defect covered by the warranty, Revox has the following options: replacement of the product free of charge with an equivalent new or remanufactured product or repair of the product using new or remanufactured parts within a reasonable time. Revox will not pay any shipping, insurance or transportation costs incurred by you or any import fees, duties and taxes.
To obtain warranty service, send in the product with proof of purchase (e.g. a receipt or purchase invoice) from an authorized Revox specialist partner using the following procedure:
- contact Revox or your Revox specialist partner in your country/region for specific returns and shipping instructions.
- returns to Revox: Please fill out the return form and send it back to us together with the product. (Forms can be found on our homepage under Service)
- send the product in the original packaging with postage paid to the address specified by Revox in your country.
However, to the extent permitted by law, this warranty is the sole and exclusive warranty given by Revox. Revox disclaims all other warranties, express or implied (including, but not limited to, any warranties of merchantability, satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement) and Revox’s liability is limited to the original purchase price. This warranty is void if the label with the serial number has been removed or defaced.
The Revox Limited Warranty applies worldwide and provides rights that are separate from and in addition to the rights to which you are entitled by law, which remain unrestricted hereunder. In Germany, these rights are contained in Section 434 ff. and Section 474 ff. of the German Civil Code and include the right of subsequent performance, withdrawal, reduction and compensation. The statutory warranty rights apply from the time of the transfer of risk.
