Product Operation
Connecting to Host Devices

Connect to a PC, mobile phone, or other devices
Wired Connection
- Make sure the device is powered on.
- Connect the USB-C cable (A) to the device (the R1 power indicator will light up).
- Use the Compatibility Switch (1) to select Xinput (default), Android, or Dinput mode.

- Make sure the device is powered on.
- Insert the USB Dongle (14) into the device.
- Use the Compatibility Switch (1) to select Xinput (default), Android, or Dinput mode.
- Press the Home Button (5) to power on and reconnect to the USB Dongle.

Repairing the Controller with the USB Dongle

- If the connection is lost or the USB Dongle (14) is replaced, press and hold USB Dongle button (B) on the USB Dongle (14) and insert it into the USB port of the host device.
- After removing the USB Dongle (14), reinsert it into the USB port of the host device without pressing USB Dongle button (B) again to complete pairing with the powered-on Ruby controller.
Note:
If the Ruby controller does not need to be paired with the USB Dongle (14) again, do not press and hold the USB Dongle button (B) on the USB Dongle (14) when plugging in or removing the receiver.
Connect the Device
Power LED
USB Cable Connection
- Connect the USB Type‑C to USB Type‑A cable (A) to the USB-C cable port (6) for power. The power indicator (4) will light up.
- When the battery is low, the power indicator (4) flashes slowly to indicate charging after connecting the USB Type‑C to USB Type‑A cable (A) to the USB-C cable port (6) for power. The indicator remains solid once fully charged.
2.4G Wireless Connection Mode
- Press the HOME button (5) to power on and start searching. The power indicator (4) will flash. Once pairing with the USB Dongle (14) is successful, the indicator will remain solid.
- When using the R1 device, the power indicator (4) will flash to indicate a low battery and that charging is required.
Note: Do not connect the USB cable in 2.4G wireless mode; otherwise, the device will switch to USB cable mode by default. The device will automatically power off if no connection is made within 2 minutes of turning on, or if there is no operation within 10 minutes after a successful connection.
USB Dongle (14) Indicator
In 2.4G wireless connection mode:
- The indicator on the USB Dongle (14) flashes while searching and stays lit when pairing is successful.
- The indicator is off when the USB Dongle (14) is not paired.

RESET Button (15)
- Press the RESET button (15) to power on the device.
- Press the RESET button (15) to restore the Ruby controller from update mode to normal controller mode.

BACK/C Mode Selection

- When the Click switch (2) is set to the Back position, the Back button (11) is enabled (default), and the Action Button C (13) is disabled.
- When the Click switch (2) is set to the C position, the Action Button C (13) is enabled, and the Back button (11) is disabled.
MODE (Joystick Direction Mode Selection)

- When the mode switch (3) is set to the DP position, D-Pad (DP) mode is enabled (default).
- When the mode switch (3) is set to the LS position, Left Stick (LS) mode is enabled.
Note: Some retro emulators only support the LS function. If the joystick does not respond, please switch the direction mode.
TURBO Button
- Each of the A/B/X/Y/R1/L1/R2/L2/R3/L3 action buttons (13) can be switched among three turbo modes:
- Turbo Off (default) – LED (7) Off
- Press Turbo – LED (7) flashes red while the button is pressed
- Auto Turbo – LED (7) flashes continuously
- Press and hold the TURBO button (9) together with one or more action buttons (13), then release to cycle through the three turbo modes.
Note
- The ▲/▼/◀/▶ directional buttons cannot be set to the turbo function.
- The turbo function has no memory. All turbo settings will be cleared automatically when the USB wired connection is disconnected or the device is powered off wirelessly.

MF Button

- With the MF LED (8) off (factory default), the four directional buttons operate in center‑reset mode:
- Press ◀ and ▶ (13) at the same time to reset to the center.
- Press ▲ and ▼ (13) at the same time to reset to the center.
- Press the MF button (10) to turn on the MF LED (8). The four directional buttons will switch to last‑input priority mode:
- The later‑pressed ◀/▶ or ▲/▼ directional button (13) overrides the earlier‑held one.
- Hold ▶ then press ◀: output is ◀.
- Hold ◀ then press ▶: output is ▶.
- Hold ▼ then press ▲: output is ▲.
- Hold ▲ then press ▼: output is ▼.
- Note: MF settings are not saved. After disconnecting the USB cable or entering 2.4G sleep mode, the device will automatically return to the default center‑reset mode with the MF indicator off..

Troubleshooting
- Controller not connecting wirelessly: Ensure the USB Dongle (14) is properly plugged into the host device. If the controller was previously paired, try re-pairing it by pressing the USB Dongle button (B) on the dongle.
- Controller not responding: Check if the controller is powered on (press the RESET button 15). If using wirelessly, ensure the battery is charged. If using a USB cable, ensure it’s securely connected.
- Joystick not working in an emulator: Try switching the joystick direction mode between D-Pad (DP) and Left Stick (LS) using the MODE switch. Some emulators only support one mode.
- Turbo function not working: Ensure you are not trying to set turbo on directional buttons. Remember that turbo settings are cleared upon disconnection or power off.
- Controller powers off automatically: The device will automatically power off if no connection is made within 2 minutes of turning on, or if there is no operation within 10 minutes after a successful connection. Reconnect or press a button to wake it up.
