applications.

Sending Unit, Harness, and Repeater Components:

The components include TireView Sending Unit, TireView Repeater,
Wire Harness, Hardware Bag, Cable Ties, and Decals.

Installation Steps:

  1. Mounting Location:
    • Identify suitable mounting locations for the sending unit and
      repeater.
    • Recommended placement for the sending unit is behind the
      driver’s seat.
    • Repeater should be placed near the first drive axle or
      optionally behind the center console.
    • Avoid mounting the repeater surrounded by metal to prevent
      signal interference.
  2. Mounting Process:
    • Use the sending unit as a template to mark and drill mounting
holes with a 3/8 drill bit.
    • Attach the sending unit using supplied bolts, washers, and
locknuts. Torque bolts to 8-10 ft.-lbs.
    • If mounting to the cab, seal penetrations with Silicone RTV to
      prevent damage.
    • Mount the repeater using cable ties, bolts, or rivets. Secure
the repeater harness and route towards the battery box.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ):

1. What is the purpose of the repeater in the TPMS system?

The repeater helps ensure proper operation of the TireView
system by extending the signal range between the sending unit and
the monitor.

2. Can I mount the sending unit anywhere in the vehicle?

It is recommended to consult with the vehicle owner/operator or
management before mounting the sending unit to ensure proper
placement and functionality.

Installation Steps
1. Identify suitable mounting location for the TireView LIVE (TVL) sending unit and repeater. See Figure 1.
CAUTION: The repeater must be installed to help ensure proper operation of the TireView system. Failure to install the repeater could void warranty.
Sending unit
RECOMMENDED PLACEMENT: mounted on the interior behind the driver’s seat.
NOTE: Consult vehicle owner operator, fleet owner, or management before mounting sending unit to cab.

= TireView Repeater = TireView Sending Unit

CAUTION: Do not mount sending unit where tires can throw debris onto enclosure as this could cause damage.

CAUTION: Make sure location is suitable to route power wire harness to the sending unit.
Repeater
RECOMMENDED PLACEMENT: near the first drive axle, central on the vehicle. See Figures 1 & 3.
OPTIONAL PLACEMENT: in cab, behind center console, minimum 3 feet from the Sending Unit if possible. See Figures 1 & 2.

CAUTION: Avoid mounting the repeater where it is surrounded by metal (i.e., inside a cross member). This can prevent sensor signals from reaching the sending unit and will cause loss of data.

2. Using the TVL sending unit as a template, mark mounting hole locations and drill with a 3/8″ drill bit. See Figure 2.
3. Use supplied bolts, washers, and locknuts to attach sending unit to vehicle.

TORQUE mounting bolts to 8-10 ft.-lbs.

CAUTION: If mounting to the cab, seal any penetrations into the body with Silicone RTV when attaching the sending unit. Screws and sealant are not included in the kit for this installation method. Technician is responsible to ensure no damage is done to equipment inside cab.
4. Mount the repeater using cable ties (included), bolts, or rivets. Repeater harness should be secured to factory wire harness or air lines with supplied cable ties and route towards the battery box. See Figure 3.
Wire Harness Connection
5. Starting at the component furthest from the fuse panel (usually the repeater) connect one lead of the wire harness to the Weather Pack connector on the component harness. Secure harness to factory wire harness or air lines with supplied cable ties and route towards the fuse panel.
NOTE: The supplied wire harness has 2 preterminated Weather Pack connectors. One lead is longer than the other, but the connectors are electrically the same. Use the proper length lead for each component. See Figure 4.
6. Connect the second lead of the wire harness to the Weather Pack connector on the remaining component. Secure harness to factory wire harness or air lines with supplied cable ties and route towards the fuse panel.
