Setup guide for OLT and ONU in Default Configuration
For the AirLive XGSPON OLT-2XGS and ONU-10XG(S)-1001-10G
Introduction
This guide details the setup process for AirLive XGSPON OLT-2XGS and ONU-10XG(S)-1001-10G devices when used in combination with a router. The setup described uses an AirLive GPON OLT-2XGS and an Airlive ONU-10XG(S)-AX304P-2.5G. Please note the following VLAN restrictions for this configuration: 0, 1, 2, 9, 8, 10, 4000, 4005, 4012-4017, 4095.
Network Diagram Overview
The network topology involves the following components:
- WAN connection feeding into a Router.
- The Router acts as a DHCP Server with IP
192.168.110.1. - The Router connects to the AirLive XGSPON OLT-2XGS via its GE3 port using VLAN 100. The OLT's managed IP is
192.168.8.200. - The OLT connects to a PON Splitter.
- The Splitter connects to the AirLive ONU-10XG(S)-AX304P-2.5G.
- The ONU has two LAN ports (1 and 2) which connect to PCs. The ONU's LAN IP is
192.168.1.1. - A PC connected to the ONU receives an IP address from the Router, typically in the range of
192.168.110.x(e.g.,192.168.110.25).
Configuration Steps
Follow these steps to configure the OLT and ONU for internet access.
Step 1-4: OLT VLAN Configuration
- Login to the OLT management web interface using the default IP
192.168.8.200via the AUX port. Ensure the correct PON mode for the ONU is selected. - To enable ONU internet access, a VLAN must be created in the OLT first.
- Create a VLAN with ID 100 for internet access (this example uses VLAN 100).
- Configure VLAN bindings for the uplink GE port. If the uplink port is in "Untag" mode, the PVID (default VLAN ID) must be set to 100.
Detailed VLAN Configuration:
- Navigate to OLT Configuration > VLAN.
- Under "New VLAN", set Mode to "single", VLAN ID to 100, and Description to "VLAN100". Click [Add]. The VLAN Table will show VLAN ID 100.
- Navigate to VLAN > VLAN Port.
- Bind all uplink GE ports (GE0/1, GE0/2, GE0/3, GE0/4) to VLAN 100. Ensure the Uplink port is set to "Untag" mode.
- Navigate to Uplink Port > Configuration.
- Change the PVID for the uplink port to 100.
Step 4: Adding the ONU to the OLT
These steps are necessary if the ONU is not automatically detected ("Plug and Play" is enabled by default in "ONU AutoLearn"). If "Plug and Play" is disabled, manual addition is required.
- Ensure the ONU is connected to the OLT via its PON ports and a splitter.
- Check the ONU AuthList. If the ONU is automatically added, proceed to Step 5.
- If not automatically added, go to ONU Configuration and select ONU Autofind.
- Select the ONU you wish to add from the discovered list and click [Add].
- Click [Submit] on the subsequent page.
The ONU should now be displayed and show an "Enable" status when connected correctly.
Step 5: ONU Configuration Selection
- Click on the "ONU List" in the top-right corner of the OLT menu bar. If the "ONU List" button is not visible, navigate to ONU Configuration and click on ONU AuthList.
- The list of active ONUs will be displayed. Select the ONU you want to configure (ensure its status is "Online") and click the [Config] button.
Step 6: Tcont and Gemport Configuration
Configure the "tcont", "gemport", "Service", "Service Port", and other parameters.
Tcont Setup
- In the Tcont configuration section, add a new Tcont.
- Example: Tcont ID: 2, Tcont Name: "test", DBA Profile Name: "default1".
- Click [Commit].
Gemport Setup
- In the Gemport configuration section, add a new Gemport.
- Ensure the TcontID is selected as 1 (or the one previously created).
- Example: Gemport ID: 2, Gemport Name: "test".
- Click [Commit].
Step 7: Service and Service Port Configuration
Service Setup
- In the Service configuration section, add a new Service.
- Ensure Gemport ID 1 is selected.
- Set VLAN Mode to "Tag".
- For "VLAN List", enter the value 100 (the VLAN ID created in the OLT).
- Click [Commit].
Service Port Setup
- In the Service Port configuration section, add a new Service Port.
- Example: Service Mode: "CVLAN", Service Port ID: 2, Gemport ID: 1.
- Set User VLAN to 100 and Translate VLAN to 100 (as this example uses VLAN 100).
- Click [Commit].
Step 8: ONU Ethernet Port (PortVLAN) Configuration
As the ONU is a SFU (Single Family Unit), its Ethernet ports need direct setup.
- On the "PortVlan" page for the ONU, configure the following:
- Mode: "Tag"
- PortType: "Eth"
- Configure each Ethernet port of the ONU:
- For LAN port 1: Enter Port Id "1" and VLAN ID "100". Click [Commit].
- For LAN port 2: Enter Port Id "2" and VLAN ID "100". Click [Commit].
Both ports are now configured to connect to the Internet.
Step 9: Save Configuration and Verification
- Press [SAVE] in the top bar of the OLT to save the complete configuration.
- The setup is now complete, and the ONU is connected to the Internet.
Verifying Internet Connectivity
- Connect a PC to one of the ONU's LAN ports.
- Configure the PC with a static IP address in the range of
192.168.1.x(e.g.,192.168.1.10). This is necessary because the PC might otherwise receive an IP from the router in the192.168.110.xrange. - Access the ONU's web interface by browsing to its default IP address:
192.168.1.1. - Note: To view and change the WAN port setup, log in as Administrator (not as User). Click on "Network" and select "WAN". Under "Connection Name", select the VLAN 100 connection to view its setup.
